Can i appear for UGCNET after doing PG Diploma in Bioinformatics?
I have done B.Sc in biotechnology. And now i am thinking of doing PG diploma in bioinformatics. Please tell me would i be eligible for UCGNET exam after doing PG diploma in bioinformatics?

NET stands for National Eligibility Test. This exam is conducted by UGC. The educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET exam. There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years. |

You have to complete post graduation degree instead of post graduate diploma for becoming eligible for UGC NET. Also, you have to score above 55% marks in post graduate degree then only you can apply for it.
Hence, post graduate diploma in bioinformatics will not be enough to make you eligible for NET. Therefore, you should take admission in a degree programme if your only aim is UGC NET. |
