Re: Which diploma course is better to get a job in Railways?
Personally I would like to suggest you to pursue degree course in any discipline from recognised university if you are interested to serve in the railway department because after graduation you will have more reputed job opportunities in this department with higher pay scale.
After graduation you will have a Number of Railway officers exam. You can go for both technical and non-technical jobs as per your interest. |

Re: Which diploma course is better to get a job in Railways?
Diploma is a 3 years course which can be done mostly after 10th examination.
Yes, 3 years diploma and lateral diploma both are equivalent to each other. A candidate who has completed 12th with PCM or ITI is eligible for lateral entry diploma, means the candidate will get admission in direct 2nd year for diploma. As diploma is a 3 years duration course so, diploma completed by 12th students by lateral entry is also considered as 3 years duration diploma course. In order to get a job in Railways, you have to complete your diploma in engineering, bachelor/master engineering in any streams like Civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, ECE, EEE. Other engineering graduates are also eligible to apply for the vacancies in Indian Railway. |

Re: Which diploma course is better to get a job in Railways?
To answer you questions one by one in the similar order :
* Yes, a 3 year diploma after 10th or a 2 years diploma after 12th, both are equivalent to each other. Also after the diploma, if you want to get into Engineering then there is a special examination for the diploma fellows named LEET. LEET >>>> Lateral Entry Engineering Test. If you qualify in the Test then you will be allotted a seat in the engineering college based on the rank in the examination and your diploma percentage. You will be given the admission in directly in the 2nd year of engineering. * For the admission the lateral diploma is not necessary but you can take admission on the basis of simple diploma itself with the above procedure. |
