Re: How much percentage is required for diploma holders to get admission in ECE trade B.Tech?
Quote:
One should score at least 60% marks in diploma in ECE to get a seat in B.Tech ECE. In addition, the diploma holders should score good marks in the lateral entry entrance examination (like LEET) also for getting admission to B.Tech ECE. Candidates are admitted to the second year of the B.Tech ECE course through lateral entry mode. Duration of the course is three years. Therefore, it is better to score good marks in diploma and lateral entry examination to get admission to the ECE trade of B.Tech in reputed engineering colleges. |

To get admission in B.Tech ECE course, you should have passed your three years Diploma in Engineering course with at least 60% aggregate marks from a recognised institution. You can also get fee exemption and scholarship for pursuing B.Tech course same like as in your Diploma course. Being a Diploma holder in ECE, you are eligible to get direct admission in second year of four years B.Tech ECE course through lateral entry admission process.

Diploma candidates can apply for Joint Entrance Examination and Lateral Entry Entrance Test for admission in Bachelor of Technology. JEE is conducted by CBSE for admission in NITs and IITs. Diploma candidates can apply for JEE Main only. You can secure good marks and rank in JEE Main to get admission in desired NIT.
LEET is conducted by State Technical University. LEET stands for Lateral Entry Entrance Test. For both exams, diploma candidates need to have 60% marks in diploma. If you have required percentage of marks, you can apply for both exams. |

To get admission in ECE trade B.Tech course after completion of your three years Diploma in ECE trade with fee waiver from a recognised institution, you can get direct admission in second year of four years B.Tech ECE course through lateral entry admission process.
Candidates who are having family annual income less than Rs.1 lakh (in case of SC/ST candidates, it is Rs.2 lakhs) are eligible to get fee waiver for pursuing B.Tech ECE course. You need to secure admission in B.Tech ECE course through entrance examination counselling process to be eligible to get fee waiver for pursuing B.Tech ECE course. |
