Hi,

You join army as an officer throw cds exam which conducted by union public service commission. It's exam you given by after graduation or appearing in final year in graduation . In this exam you apply 2 ranks , the one is Indian Military academy and second is Official training academy .
Age Limit :-
For Indian Military academy : 19 to 23 year.
For Official training academy : 19 to 25 year .

CDSE exam expanded as Combined Defense Service conducted by UPSC is the best way for you to join in Indian Army. To appear in that exam your age must be above 19yrs and below 23yrs. You must be a graduate or equivalent from a recognized university.

With Diploma course you are not eligible for any defense service exam.So if you are interested to join in Defense Service,then you should complete graduation degree.
After completing graduation you can join in defense service by appear CDS exam.
CDS stands for Combined Defense Service exam.This exam is conducted by Union Public Service commission every year twice to take qualified students into different defense service like Indian Air Force,Indian Navy and Indian Army.

To appear for CDS(Indian Army),you should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.And your age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.

And this notification will release in the month Oct and June every year twice.And exam will held on February and September every year respectively.

Its good that you have decided to join INDIAN NAVY in CLASS 8th only.

At your stage you just have to keep your dedication alive.

When you clear your class 10th boards...take any one of the following streams in class 11th.....

PHYSICS+CHEMISTRY+MATHS+COMPUTERS

PHYSICS+CHEMISTRY+MATHS+INFORMATICS PRACTICES

PHYSICS+CHEMISTRY+MATHS+BIOLOGY

PHYSICS+CHEMISTRY+MATHS+PHYSICAL EDUCATION.

You must concentrate more on your main subjects like physics,chemistry and maths.

These will help you in NDA exam.

You must aim to get above 80 % in class 12th.
Once you clear class 12th you must fill the forms for..

you have to complete your graduation first in order to be eligible for CDSE,and now you are a diploma holder.so get lateral entry into some college complete your degree first and then apply for CDSE.

Eligibility criteria for the CDS exam:

Graduation from a recognised university with atleast 60% marks.

Age limit should be 18 to 28 years.

Final year candidates also eligible.

you can appear for the nda examination, which is conducted by the union public service commission UPSC.You have not mention here the your current educational status & stream.
Through this examination, one can apply in all the combatant branches of the INDIAN army , i.e.-
1. Indian Army
2. Indian Air force
3. Indian Navy

But you must have maths in 12th,. as maths is the core subjects of NDA examination.so, you can appear for the NDA examination. although you can not apply for the NAVAL & AIR FORCE WING, as for apply in these , you must have subject physics & maths in 12th.

the age limit for this examination is 16.5-19 years.
there is not any age relaxations.

You must have indian nationality.

you must have marital status unmarried.

The candidates must be a citizen of India.

Let me explain briefly

CDS: Combined Defence Service Examination (CDSE) is conducted by upsc (http://www.upsc.gov.in) twice every year for entry into all three defence services.
Eligibility criteria is different for all three. For ARMY- graduation in any background,with at least 60% aggregate Age Limit- 25 years.For Navy: B.sc(with Physics and Mathematics) or B.tech/B.E Age Limit- 22 years.For Airforce- B.E./B.Tech,graduate in any decipline with Physics or Mathematics at class 12 Age Limit- 23 years.

You can also enter in there logistic cadre ,the minimum qualification for logistic cadre is B.sc(pcm),BCA,LLB,etc.You have to crack an entrance for it conducted by army,navy and airforce it self.Notifications are released in employment news keep it reading.

Physical Standard for NDA Examination

Indian Army can be joined basically in two ways:- one after 12th through NDA and other through CDS after Graduation Degree both NDA & CDS entrance exams are conducted by UPSC twice every year.

NDA - National Defence Academy - The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried Male candidate having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health.

CDS - Combined Defence Service - The eligible candidate aspiring for Indian Army(IMA) of CDS, must be an Indian unmarried National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years with good Physical and Mental health.

the minimum eligibility for army selection is 12th pass or should be at-least 17yrs old.

you can write NDA ( National Defence Academy) exam when you cross 17th or your 12th standard board exams
