I'm student of this Institute .hey dear! here the environment is totally rustic , Because its away from any urban area, situated in village. Living standard is n't good here, like any urban private colleges .On the basis of the response of some PhD scholars ,library is n't fully updated So they have to look for any another library for updated journals at Delhi, Chandigarh! So I advice You,Its have the same bureaucratic system like in any Govt. Institute In India. So Please, take a close at this campus whether it is suited to your expectation before joining it. Otherwise You will think, I wasted my prices time.

no there is no scope of instrumentation

Its ranking is very poor. And is not a good college for engineering. Even 80% of the students do not know the name of sliet. And its placement is also not so good. It has certificate, diploma, degree, etc. Programs.

I can't tell you the exact rank of SLIET, but it is one of the best institutes in India,providing various courses.

It is said to be a deemed institute soon, has not been declared yet as a deemed.

Anyway, you can join this institute for further studies in technological sciences or management studies.

Vertical Entry Seats (Only for SLIET Students):

For admission in SLIET to the vertical entry seat shall be 50% of the admitted (on the cut off as prescribed by the institute) strength of the students who got admission in the lower courses before 2 years and not earlier. If a student from promoted candidates do not claim admission in a trade or a seat falls vacant afterwards in a trade, then that seat will be offered to next eligible candidate in that trade.

For vertical promotion from Certificate course to Diploma course/ Diploma course to Degree course against these reserved seats, the Certificate course/ Diploma students shall appear in a special entrance tests (i.e SET-IV for diploma course and SET V for Degree Course) designed for them in order to enter into the Diploma / Degree stream.

The merit of such candidates shall be prepared on the basis of 60% weightage of their score in the Entrance tests (SET IV & V) and 40% weightage of their score in the qualifying Certificate / Diploma course provided that student had got admission to Certificate course/ Diploma programme before 2 years and not earlier and had completed the course in the prescribed period of normal study i.e. two years and by availing only prescribed chances to clear a subject. Prescribed chances to clear a subject are one regular and two supplementary chances. However, a student having supplementary in 4th semester i.e. the last semester, shall be given only one supplementary chance for the purpose of promotion to Diploma module/ higher module.

Direct Entry Seats (For outside candidates and SLIET students):

For Direct Entry to Diploma & Degree Programmes a National Level Entrance Tests, SET-II for Diploma Programmes & SET-III for Degree Programmes is conducted by the institute for admission to these seats on the basis of merit.
Non-SLIET candidates with the diploma/ degree qualification and SLIET students admitted before 2 years in Certificate/ Diploma courses are eligible to get admission against these seats. Even a SLIET student admitted in Certificate/ Diploma courses in the previous years is entitled to apply for admission under direct entry seat in any Diploma/ Degree programme. But such a student shall not be considered for admission against direct entry seat in that Diploma/ Degree programme/specialisation which is available to him/ her by way of vertical promotion. The SLIET students competing for direct entry seats shall have to appear in SET-II/ Set III examination and shall be treated completely at par with the outside (Non-SLIETian) candidate for admission to this category without any weightage to their score in the qualifying Certificate/ Diploma course.

No result of any qualifying examination will be entertained after the date of first counselling of the programme.A Candidate not reporting for counselling will not be considered in subsequent counsellings, if any. The duration of the B. Tech. Degree program is of 3 years.

Candidates who yet not have attained their Diploma and are appearing for it can also appear in SLIET examination.
