HERE IS THE REQUIREMENTS FOR IAS EXAM
The basic conditions are 1. Graduate degree 2. Age limit 21-30 you can attend for upsc examination. notification is published on february the new syllabus for 2011 prelims ias is given below The new syllabus will have two common papers with equal weightage (200 marks each), unlike the current system which gives more weightage to subject paper (300 marks) than the common general awareness paper (150 marks). CSAT Syllabus The first paper under the new syllabus will be more or less like the current general awareness paper, with additional issues such as climate change and biodiversity. It will will test civil services aspirants on current events of national and international importance, Indian history, Indian and world geography, Indian polity and governance, economic and social development and general science, besides environmental ecology, biodiversity and climate change that do not require subject specialization. The second paper, being introduced by replacing the optional (subject) paper, will have aptitude, data interpretation and English language comprehension skills. The second paper comprises general comprehension; inter-personal skills, including communication skills; logical reasoning and analytical ability; decision making and problem solving; general mental ability; basic numbers and their relations (secondary level) and data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables and data sufficiency). The English language comprehension skills will also be of secondary level. Those who clear preliminary can attend final examination Part B - Main Examination - Optional Subjects Paper-I One of the Indian Languages to be selected by the candidate from the 22 languages included in the VIIIth Schedule to the Constitution (Qualifying Paper) 300 Marks Paper-II English (Qualifying Paper) 300 Marks Paper-III Essay [in the medium you choose] 200 Marks Papers IV & V General Studies (300 Marks for each paper) 600 Marks Papers VI, VII, VIII & IX Any two subjects (each having 2 papers) to be selected from the prescribed optional subjects (300 marks for each paper) 1200 Marks Total Marks for Written Examination 2000 Marks Interview Test [in the medium you choose] 300 Marks Grand Total 2300 Marks |

to become a IAS officer, You need to appear for Civil services examination and to appear in this examination, you need a graduate degree from a recognised university. Final Year appearing candidates are also eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Services examination, But to appear in this examination, your age should between 21 to 30 years, The upper age relaxation is only applicable for SC, ST and OBC Candidates. You can apply for this examination only 4 times and OBC candidates can apply for 7 times and No limits for SC, ST candidates. The UPSC conducts the examination 2 times in a year, the notification was published in the employment newspaper or in the official website of UPSC. The examination are held in 2 stages, Firstly Preliminery exams and Main exam. You have to clear both the exam and then you are eligible for Final Interview. Eligibility Criteria :- The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC. Application forms will come out in the month of January. Paper pattern has changed in IAS 2011 exam. Paper Pattern for IAS 2011 exam :- Unlike present,now there are two objective type papers carrying equal marks, in which 1) General-Studies paper carries 150 marks 2) Optional paper carries 150 marks.
