IAS stands for INDIAN ADMINSTRATIVE SERVICE this exam is conducted by the upsc twice a year. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IAS EXAM:
1.candidate should complete graduation from a recognized university. 2. Age limit for this exam is 21 to 30 years. 3. 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates. 4. 5 years for SC/ST candidates . 5. Physical requirement for IAS :- Height :- Male : For Pahari Male and general- 165 cm ST (not the SC/ OBC) - 160 cm Female : Pahari Female and general- 150 cm ST (not SC/ OBC) - 145 cm Chest : - Male : Minimum 84 cm. with expansion 5 cm. Female : Minimum 79 cm with expansion 5 cm. Eye sight :- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test. Thanks |

dear friends. Physical standard for it is as same as for defence
services,a little exceptions are there in some exceptional cases like for sc/st and oc's there is no as such rules have been made regarding physical fitness like you should have this height or that chest expansion. there is no such special demand for physical fitness they only required .. the person having good health. |

hi,
I am Abhijeet Sawant. I am giving third year in computer science exam from Mumbai university. I am 25 years old as of 1st July 2012. My academic results after higher school secondary exam are very poor. dropped engineering and joined bachelor of science at age of 20 years. I had a very serious accident in Jan 2011. was in coma for 29 days and left leg completed damaged with multiple fractures. After almost 2 years I can walk properly. Now my question is can I apply for UPSC civil services exam with these physical defects ? |

Hi dear,
There is no physical requirement for IAS and IFS and physical requirement is necessary only for IPS as under- Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. eye sight-6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. IAS stands for Indian administrative service.The eligibility criteria for the same is as under- 1. The candidate must passed His graduation in any stream from any recognized university. 2. The age limit is 21 to 30 years for general candidates and 4 attempts. **age limit is 21 to 35years for sc/st candidates and no limit to attempts. **age limit is 21 to 33years for obc candidates and 7 attempts. As there is no physical fitness for IAS ,so if you fulfill the eligibility criteria then you are eligible for IAS exam too. Thanks |

IAS exam is held through UPSC once in a year , The candidates should be a grdaute in any discipline from a recognize university , The candidates should not be lass that 21 yrs those who are interested to apply for this post & not higher than 30 yrs. There is a age relaxation for Schedule caste candidates.There is no such physical requirements for IAS exam , Any candidates those who are interested to apply ca apply which candidates are physically handicraft can also apply for IAS exam. Dear friend,
you can apply for IAS exam since there is no factor of physical abilities . Even a blind man can apply for IAS and he has the age considerations also So don't worry about that... There is only one requirement that you should have an age of 21 and not exceed 30 years The academic requirements are you should be a graduate in any stream.. And another requirement is you should be an Indian good luck |

Eligibility criteria:- You should be complete graduation or an bachelor's degree from a recognised university. The candidate must be a citizen of india. Final year persuing candidates can also be eligible for this exam. -->There is no required percentage to appear this exam. Age criteria:- For General candidates--> 21 years to 30years, For OBC candidates 21 years to 33years, For SC/ST candidates 21 years to 35 years. For PH OBC candidates 21 years to 40years. Number of Attempts:- 4 times for general candidates, 7 times OBC candidates, No limit for SC/ST candidates.
