Physical Requirements for IAS Entrance?
hi,..i m khushi i want to ask about the eye sight weakness,can i apply for the IAS exam,and tell me more about the physical requirement for IAS entrance exam.plz rply quickly as soon as possible.

hey, according to the IAS coaching centres there is no eligibility criteria barring candidates with physical imperfections or disabilities as such so i dont think your problem should hamper your chances.

Dear friend,
you can apply for IAS exam since there is no factor of physical abilities . Even a blind man can apply for IAS and he has the age considerations also So don't worry about that... There is only one requirement that you should have an age of 21 and not exceed 30 years The academic requirements are you should be a graduate in any stream.. And another requirement is you should be an Indian good luck |

UPSC conduct IAS exam every year. UPSC has not fix any specific criteria for physical test to IAS exam.So you need not to worry about your physical fitness but you need not to be handicapped for this exam like for IPS,IFS etc. You can reach your destination with strong enthusiasm and great mind power. good luck |

Physical requirement for IAS :-
Height :- Male : For Pahari Male and general- 165 cm ST (not the SC/ OBC) - 160 cm Female : Pahari Female and general- 150 cm ST (not SC/ OBC) - 145 cm Chest : - Male : Minimum 84 cm. with expansion 5 cm. Female : Minimum 79 cm with expansion 5 cm. Eye sight :- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test. |

my father is an A.S.I in mp police. my height is 166 cm. m i eligible for m.p sub inspector exam..?
is there any relextation for me as my father is in police deparment..? i have heard that police employee's son can have height relextation in sub inspector exam by permission of DIG or IG.... |

dear friends.
Physical standard for it is as same as for defence services,a little exceptions are there in some exceptional cases like for sc/st and oc's there is no as such rules have been made regarding physical fitness like you should have this height or that chest expansion. there is no such special demand for physical fitness they only required .. the person having good health. |

UPSC conducts the exam for IAS, IPS, IFS, IES...... eligibility criteria for this is; -a candidate should have graduate from any recognised university - age should be between 21-30 for general candidate, 33 for OBC and 35 for SC/ST there is no any physical requirement for IAS and IFS... physical requirement is only necessary for IPS..... Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. eye sight-6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. |

As you want become an IAS officer then no such physical requirements is necessary.. All you need is you must have complete your graduation in any trade from a recognized university. And your age should be in between 21-30 years. If you are from SC/ST category then upper age relaxation is 5 years and if your from OBC category then upper age relaxation is 3 years. All the best. |

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Civil Services Examination. 2010 as per guidelines given in Appendix-III of Rules for Examination published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 2nd January, 2010.... so there is no such mandatory requirement as such to join IAS.

There is no Physical requirement for IAS exam..
There is age limit...that you have to maintain : Age limits : 21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. Focus on your age and education qualification.. |

IAS- INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one has to appear for the Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
The candidate must be an Indian National having completed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years is eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam. Generally there is no specification for Physical standard required for those applying for IAS. A physically Handicapped/disabled candidate can also apply for IAS. The minimum eligibility required for IAS is graduation from any recognized university.No physical fitness is required for IAS.Only for IPS physical fitness is required .Every year UPSC will conduct exam for IAS and IPS .One need to qualify in that exam to become a IAS officer. The age should be between 21 t0 30 and number of attempts can give is 4 times for general and 7 times for OBC and infinity for Sc/St. All The Best... |
