Re: Details about PGCET exam?
Dear Friends,
About VTU PGCET for ME/MTech. Following informations will be helpful to you. I try to answer to most of the questions that are asked earlier. 1. PGCET notifications begins in May-June of every year and ends by July 10th. July 3rd or 4th week will be scheduled for examination. 2. Sites to refer: www.vtu.ac.in pgcet.vtu.ac.in {May be invalidated as Karnataka Examination Authority(KEA) is taking over PGCET exams} 3. GATE qualified candidates(Having valid GATE scores of two years) shall get first preference. Then followed by sponsored and then PGCET candidates. 4. No cutoff specified for PGCET. Admission is possible till the end of seat allocation during counselling. But, later notification shall be provided for vacant seats. 4. GATE qualified candidates shall get stipend depending upon the funding awarded for the course either by AICTE/MHRD etc.. That means not every GATE qualified gets stipend. And PGCET qualified never get stipends. 5. PGCET exams follow GATE syllabus. So, no specific book is available. Just prepare for GATE syllabus. 6. GATE Qualified are exempted from having written test for PGCET. But still, they ahve to fill the PGCET Application form. 7. Top colleges in Karnataka under VTU are a. RV b. PESIT c. SJCE d. BMS e. NIE f. VTU Regional Centers g. etc... Choose the one that has old history rather than new ones where faculty problems seem to be existing. I just add this much for the time being. More shall be added depending upon new queries. |
