Details for the entrance exam for 11th class in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in science stream :

Exam is conducted in the last week of May.

No. of seats for Boys :
Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics : 360 seats
Physics, Chemistry & Biology : 240 seats

No. of seats for Girls :
Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics : 60 seats
Physics, Chemistry & Biology : 240 seats
Physics, Chemistry & Home Science : 10 seats
Biology, Chemistry & Home Science : 10 seats

Eligibility criteria : Candidate must have passed 10th class from any recognised board with minimum of 45% marks.

Examination Pattern :

Question paper will consists of 100 objective type question. Exam will be of 100 marks.

Science ( Physics, Chemistry and Life Science ) : 50 marks
Mathematics : 30 Marks
General Knowledge and Indo-Islamic Culture : 20 Marks

Syllabus for Mathematics :

Trigonometrical Identities, Similar Triangles, Quadratic Equations, Circle, Heights and Distance, Area and Perimeter of Circle, Volume and Surface Area of 3D Solids, Statistics, Probability, Application of Algebraic Identity, Test of Reasoning

Syllabus for Biology :

Heredity and Evolution, Reproduction, Management of Natural Resources, Our Environment, Life Processes, Control and Co-ordination in Plants and Animals

Syllabus for Chemistry :
Periodic Table and Properties, Types of Chemical Reactions, Acids, Bases and Salts, Carbon and Compounds, Metals, Non-metals and their Compounds, Mole Concept

Syllabus for Physics :

Refraction, Light, Sources of Energy, Electric Current, Magnetic Effects of Current
