Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Services Examination every year and if you want to become IPS officer then you have to apply for Civil Services Examination.

One must be an Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university for Civil Services Examination.

The age limit for Civil Services Exam is as follows:

General Category- 21 to 30 years

OBC Category- 21 to 33 years

SC/ST Category- 21 to 35 years

If you have age on your side then you can apply for IPS exam.

The number of attempts are limited hence you have to be well prepared for this exam then only you will become an IPS officer.

The examination is a three tier process:

-CSAT

-Mains

-Interview

For becoming IPS officer you also have to be medically fit otherwise you will be rejected.

So be prepared for the exam if you really want to become an IPS officer.

Dear..

The eligibility for the exam is as follows :-

1. All graduate are eligible
2. Graduation must be done from a recognized university
3. Only Indian citizen are eligible
4. Age limit is 20-30 years
5. Graduation subject does not matter at all
6. relaxation to those who belong to SC, ST and OBC
7. Attempts are also limited that is why a thorough preparation in mandatory.
8. No minimum percentage criteria for IAS.

So you have seen that there is no percentage criteria required to be complete for the IAS exam and hence your low marks in the graduation is not a matter to worry here.

One more thing that i want to tell you is that you are 100% qualified for the exam and you do not have to worry for the exam as all stream are equally eligible for the exam and hence you can go for the exam with arts stream also

Exam is conducted in 3 stages.

IAS Preliminary
IAS Mains
IAS Interview

Hope it will help

Cheers...!!!
