Hey friend,

It is a different thought of becoming a geologist,i appreciate that for your choice and as far regarding the criteria which you must satisfy to write the geologist exam which is conducted by UPSC are:

First you must have a age limit of 21-32 years,if you are interested in writing this exam.

There are certain upper age relaxation for certain categories allocated by UPSC.

As far regarding the education qualification you must have done a degree in Geology /Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university.

As far regarding your qualification you cannot apply for the geologist exam now as you haven't attained your graduation degree as per the education qualification.

It is better that you do your graduation in the above courses that,i have mentioned.

To became a geologist first you have to complete grauation in geography.
For grauation in geography you have to study B.A honours in geography. You can also study B.Sc honours geography and geology, but very few university in India offer B.Sc degree. After completing bachelor degree you have to study M.A or honours geography and geology. You can get job in geological survey of India as a geologist or surveryor. Hello Friend!
My personal suggestion is that first to do B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Then you have choice to do the M.Tech in Geology field. There you can have many opportunities compared to do via B.Sc,M.sc

Dear Friend

I really appreciate your decision to become Geologist but for this you will have to clear the UPSC Geologist exam .

It has the following eligibility criteria :

Academic qualification:

>>Master's degree in geology/applied geology /marine geology from a recognized university.

>>Or Diploma of associateship in applied geology from Indian school of Mines.

>>Master's degree in mineral exploration from a recognized university for the posts in Geological survey of India.

>>Master's degree in hydrogeology for the posts in Central Ground Water board.

Now you can understand that for becoming geologist, you must have at least minimum of master's degree .So you are not eligible after 10+2.First you will have to do bachelor's degree then master's degree .

Age criteria :

>>The age limit is 21-32 on the 1st January of the year of examination.Relaxations applicable to certain categories like obc and sc/st candidates.

>>You must be an Indian citizen.
