I am Anil. I completed MCA from IGNOU University recently.
Then any one suggest how to get job in good companies after MCA from Ignou?

IGNOU is a good university and if you want to course from IGNOU you can join.
And it will be best option for u.

Well its not true that IGNOU is not a good university or its courses are not good.
The thing is that in India correspondence education is looked through a narrow perspective something that is meant for the untalented the below average .. who could not secure admission anywhere else.
Though it is true in hi dear just believe in your self, if you have already completed MCA from ignou then now you will not do mca gain from reputated university,
come out from the illusion dear , you can get better jobs after apart, still IGNOU courses have good value( of course not as much as full time courses )
You should register on Job sites like Monster,naukari etc.
Take whatever job you can get as you are not in a position to choose.Gain some work experience and then you will be much more employable
you can also do some professional courses like from NIIT, where you can avail of placement facilities.. NIIT often organizes Job fairs etc.
You can also prepare for Govt. jobs, since As a masters graduate you can appear for many exams ... this is where your degree come to help,

If you complete MCA course from MCA then you can get a good job in a big sector. Please read employment news regularly because many vacency comes out in the employment news.

Yes IGNOU is a good university for doing correspondence course ,you can definitely get good job after doing MCA from IGNOU,but some companies have a criteria for completed degree but should not by the correspondence ,noting to worry about this you can try for other companies which have not such criteria.

for my suggetion is you join for sap abap course in best univercity in bangulor and pune. you get the job for best position.

ignou is very good reputed university u can find job after m.c.a in IT sector
but you ll have to do hard work ..because industry need knowledge than degrees ..

Yes.. Dear, you need to first improve your english. If you are not good or at least avg in your communication, then you will never get a good job. You are very poor at english.

Even the same kind of impression i had for MCA which i had done it from IGNOU. See the point is if you wanna make your career
into software industry then one must have a computers degree like MCA/BE/Btech and the like and being a post graduate
will enable you to satisfy one the conditions that is mandatory or considered as important for one to get a job in MNC like HCL,TCS, wipro, cognizant, fidelity,NIIT and the like. Expertise in new technlogies, practical knowledge of technologies and communication skills embodies other condition which when satisfied will place you directly into big very big MNC's. And once you get a job in a good company then there is no way looking backwards. Just progress progress and progess in terms of finance; in terms of your technological skill set; in terms of your social skills, in terms of your satisafaction. Hard work is never wasted, it is always appreciated.

At last conclusively this statement should give you lots of confidence that i am working as software developer at NIIT Ltd with handsome package as per market despite the fact that i have done BCA and MCA from IGNOU. Worship work and companies will worship you. Thats what i beleive .

I have completed my B.Sc with 58% of aggregate, I am working as a 'Software test Engineer', but I am confused about studying MCA through Distance Education or through Regular Course.....

Please anyone suggest me, should I leave the job and go for regular MCA, or will it be good to my carrier if I do MCA by Distance Education while working.

I am persuing MCA from IGNOU. I am in 4rth sem and working with a US based KPO company.Will it be considered as my experience in IT field? Hi I gone throught all this.. well i have completed BCA and MCA from IGNOU and was an average student. I got secound division in both. But now working in HCL technology and i have worked in NIIT and R systems and other big organization as well. no doubt some compnies has the filter for correspondence courses but not all. In the starting everyone get the difficulty to finding the jobs whether IGNOU or reguler. All thing depend how sound you are in your technology and your telent. Now everyone knows how hard IGNOU students can do the work.

But on the other hand sometime i always think that if i do reguler degree only becouse there are many big organization has the filter criteria for the correspondence courses such as TCS,infosys etc

I have completed BCA & MCA from IGNOU in 2005 itself. I am already working from last 6 years. but still have a feeling that I am not getting offer from some companies like Accenture, TCS due to distance course even after completing the various round of interview....they want only regular graduate.
Can anyone suggest me .. what I should do ?

IGNOU is ofcourse a very good university to do a MCA or BCA with... as of my knowlege any university is teaching just the outlines of the courses whether it is IGNOU or regular. it always depends upon the candidate how he fetch the knowledge out of the study meterial and other learning resorces because here we talk about a field which has a very wide aspects and it changes rapidly now if you are doing something from university, like C language then it has no practicle use in big companies as we learn sum of integers and all small stuffs which are basically 10-20 lines of programs, it just we call a outline of language. In practicle, the companies shape big products so one should learn and focus about big things and ofcourse here the outlines taught by universities are useful because they teach you the fundas of creating programs which one can implement on big level and real life applications. even students from reputed university will not be able to work from the first day to his professional carrier. so the bottom line is, its just the knowledge and the experience that counts not the university. once you have good knowledge and some experience with degree of any university any one crack the interviews in big companies.

well I was pretty sure about IGNOU and its reputation and its recruitment as well. One of my friend has been selected in Microsoft after completion of his MCA course from IGNOU...

IGNOU is improving. The only problem is that it is very demanding and the results are unpredictable. It is easy to enter IGNOU but very difficult to get out. However in job this works in favor of those who have managed to pass out from IGNOU as the manager feels that if you have been able to complete IGNOU then you can achieve good productivity under any situation also the confidence level is high. My suggestion is that IGNOU is risky if you can't network with people and take it casually. I have done this and it is going to take me 8 years to complete it. I reflect and I can say that it would have been better had I pursued MCA Plus BCA from some where else. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends
My suggestion for those how have little Monitory resource is
1. Take admission to any other open university There are a plenty if you can study in a regular then just go for it as the benefits are many fold.
2. If at all u have to take distance education route then know for sure that you will always see those who know less then you but are in a much better position. Have good command on English (especially Grammer and spoken), reasoning and numerical ability. (Miss this and know that the life will be terrible in IT)
3. Learn html, css, javascript, jQuery (this makes javascript easy), PHP and MySQL two frameworks like Zend, codeigniter, cakephp (all this will take 6 months) and get some job in some IT firm even if without pay. Do research on the internet ( no need to join any course and waste money and time)
4. Work hard for 1-1.5 years and know the SDLC process well and improve communication skills
5. Move to different technologies if you wish like Dot Net, Java-J2EE (Get certified like OCJP, OCWCD etc), Android-iPhone, DBA, SAP(involves a lot of cost) After 1-2 years in the same company or stay with PHP.
6. Save a lot of money and go For M.Tech From good university
You will be in the same league of those who have done BTech from good university.
