Eligibility criteria for IAS/IPS

nationality-
For IAS and IPS the candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit -
The candidate must have completed 21 years of age and should not be more than 30 years of age. A relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit is given to SC/ST candidates , 3 years to OBC candidates and 10 years to physically disabled candidates

Educational qualification -

There are some physical standards for IPS also like -

Height-
The minimum acceptable height for men is 165 cm and for women is 150 cm. However a relaxation of 5 cm will be given in both cases to ST candidates and some races like Gorkhas, Garhwalias, etc.

Chest -
The minimum chest size for men is 84 cm and for women is 79 cm with 5 cm expansion for each.

Vision -
THe candidate must not be suffering from myopia more than -4D and hypermetropia more than +4D. So use of spectacles is permitted.
