Re: How to distinguish between Creamy and Non-Creamy layer of OBC?
Creamy Layer:
Creamy layer is defined as the financially, socially and educationally well build families of the society. So the government had divided OBC category in two parts: 1. Creamy layer OBC 2. Non Creamy layer OBC According to the new rule, The persons whose parental income is equal or greator than 4.5 Lakhs belongs to the creamy layer OBC and whose parental income is less than 4.5 Lakhs belongs to the Non Creamy layer OBC category. |

Re: How to distinguish between Creamy and Non-Creamy layer of OBC?
Actually the limit of annual income for non creamy layer is below 6lakh so if ur husband is earning more than 6lakh then u will come under creamy layer without considering ur income.

Re: How to distinguish between Creamy and Non-Creamy layer of OBC?
Hello friend,
Creamy layer and non creamy layer are two terms Coined by government of India. Both creamy layer and non creamy layer falls under OBC category. Recently Government of India has notified us that if a family has an annual income of more than 8 lacs then they would be considered under creamy layer which is equivalent to general category and hence they are not entitled to get any benefit related to their caste. If the total family income of a person is 8 lacs or less then it would be considered under non creamy layer and he will be entitled to get all the benefits of OBC category. You have mentioned that you and your husband's total income is more than 900000 rupees then you are not eligible to get the benefit of OBC category. Hope it will help you |

Re: How to distinguish between Creamy and Non-Creamy layer of OBC?
OBC and NC OBC are the two classes into which OBC is divided on the basis of annual salary in the OBC category.
NC OBC is Non Creamy Layer OBC while OBC is Creamy Layer OBC. OBC Creamy layer does not get any benefit. They does not come under reserved category anymore. They are treated equal to General category candidate. The difference between Creamy and Non creamy layer is on the basis of Annual income of Family. If the annual income of the family is more than 8 lakhs per annum, the candidate is considered to be under Creamy layer and does not get any benefit of reservation. The Union ministry has raised the bar to 8 lakhs per annum and it has been done this week itself. OBC non creamy layer gets benefits for exams and jobs. |

Re: How to distinguish between Creamy and Non-Creamy layer of OBC?
In many countries, including India, the classification of Creamy Layer and Non-Creamy Layer is based on income and social status criteria for Other Backward Classes (OBC). The Creamy Layer refers to the relatively higher-income segment within the OBC category, while the Non-Creamy Layer comprises individuals or families with lower income levels. The purpose of this classification is to ensure that reservation benefits are targeted towards those who are socio-economically disadvantaged.
To determine whether someone falls into the Creamy Layer or Non-Creamy Layer of OBC, the following factors are typically considered: Income Criteria: The most crucial factor is the annual income of the individual or their family. The income threshold for Creamy Layer is usually higher compared to the Non-Creamy Layer. The specific income limits are determined by the government and can vary over time. It is advisable to check the latest guidelines issued by the government or the appropriate authority to determine the income limits. Occupation Criteria: Certain professions or occupations may be excluded from the Non-Creamy Layer category. For example, individuals holding positions such as civil servants, high-ranking government officials, or individuals working in specific sectors like banking, finance, or public sector enterprises may be classified as part of the Creamy Layer, regardless of their income. |
