Well the number of hours one must study to crack IIT differs from one another.
I have seen people study for 16 hours a day everyday for 2 years. Even then only the intelligent people of those get ranks in top 1000. If you just want to get a seat in IIT then you should actually study for atleast 10 hours a day excluding your school time but including your class timings if you have joined any coaching classes.
