Steps to join M.Tech course after B.Tech
B.Tech and M.Sc graduates need to appear for various entrance exams as a first step to qualify for the M.Tech course. The students have to prepare very well to crack the competitive entrance tests and to get into top Institutes.
Step I: Applying for the M.Tech entrance exam
The first step is to apply for the various entrance exams. GATE score is accepted in most institutes. However certain universities like Calicut University, GGSIPU conduct their own entrance exams for admitting students for M.Tech course. There are some state level exams like Karnataka CET and TANCET too. With the scores obtained in these exams they can apply to the concerned colleges. The corresponding institution will put up a rank list and the admission will be based on the position of the students in the list.
There are options to get the application form from the corresponding zonal GATE website. The application is to be made online and relevant certificates have to be attached while submitting the application. For other institutes the application form and payment details will be given in the concerned website itself.
Step II: Applying to Institutes
On receiving the entrance exam score the candidates will need to apply to the various institutes. In case the entrance exam is conducted by the institute itself then there is no need to apply separately to the institute.
