S.S.C. - School Service Commition.

From 2014 S.S.C. B.Ed. degree is mandatory.


Upper age limit 40 years instead of 37 years for general candidates.However age relaxation by 5 years for S.C. / S.T. candidates and 3 years for O.B.C. candidates and 8 years for P.H. candidates will be given on the age of 40 years.

upto some previous days the rule was that the maximam age limit 35 years.but now that rule was changed and now the maximum age limit is 40 years.

Here is the age details for SSC examination for general candidates

Age limitation :

The age of the candidate must be within 21 to 37 years for general candidates.

But for SC/ST there are 5 years age relaxation.
And for OBC there are 3 years age relaxation.

Hello,
Earlier it was 37 years of age limit. But nowadays the age limit is of 40 years for people opting for West Bengal School Service Commission(WBSSC). Now my suggestion is to try for it for maximum 27-28 years of age, the minimum years for trying for SSC being 20 years. Because if you keep on trying until the age of 40, then you will become aged for most other jobs like Banking or IT sectors or College Teaching. And mostly you will not be able to go for such jobs at that point of time and be unemployed. So give it a try for 6-7 years and if still not successful in it, then leave it and go for other jobs. Eligibility Criteria for Recruitment in WBSSC:

Educational Qualification: Master's Degree from a UGC recognized University with at least 45% marks both at the Secondary Level and Higher Secondary Level, 40% marks in the Honours subject at the Honours Level or 45% marks at the Pass Level for a candidate without having Honours Degree and 40% marks at the Post-Graduate Level, with degree in Bachelor of Teaching/ Bachelor of Education/ Post-Graduate Basic Training from any recognised University or any training recognized by the State Government as equivalent to Bachelor of Teaching / Bachelor of Education / Post- Graduate Basic Training from a Teachers' Training Institution duly recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in the relevant academic session

Age Limit : (as on 1 January 2013): Maximum 55 years
