Respected Sir, I have completed my Diploma in Computer Science and now I want to pursue my Graduation with B.Tech so I want to know am I eligible to get a Lateral entry in B.Tech after completing Diploma course? Do I need to write any entrance exam for the same? Please answer as soon as possible.

Yes, you are eligible for B.Tech course after diploma course though lateral entry exam.

Those candidates who have completed B.Sc or Diploma course from a recognized University are eligible for lateral entry exam.

Yes, you are eligible to get lateral entry admission in B.Tech course after completion of your three years Diploma course from a Government recognised board. Candidates who have passed three years Diploma course are eligible to get direct admission in second year of four years B.Tech course through lateral entry admission process.

To get lateral entry admission in B.Tech course, you should have to appear in lateral entry examinations like LEET, ECET, JELET, etc., which is conducted by your respective state board of technical education. If you qualify the entrance examination, you will be called for counselling process according to your examination rank and you will be allotted a seat in a particular college for pursuing B.Tech course.

LEET stands for Lateral Entry Entrance Test. LEET is conducted by state technical university for admission in second year of engineering for diploma candidates. Diploma candidates with 60% marks or more in diploma can apply for LEET exam to get admission in state engineering colleges.

You can also apply for Joint Entrance Examination Main and clear it to get admission in central government engineering colleges. However, diploma candidates are not eligible for JEE Advanced to get admission in IITs.
