I want to say I had completed M.Phil in 2009 and get registered for PhD in 2011 and completed my PhD program in 2018 in old course. Please, tell me whether I'm eligible for Lectureship or not?

There is no upper age limit for Lectureship. Candidates can apply for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test for Lectureship at any age. At present, this examination is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.

You are eligible for National Eligibility Test. But you must have minimum of 55% marks in post graduation. The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years.

A person can become lecturer by clearing National Eligibility Test and then applying for vacancies in different universities. NET qualified candidates are eligible for Lectureship jobs.

Eligibility criteria for National Eligibility Test:

1. You must be a master's degree holder in any stream with minimum of 55% marks in it. Final year post graduation candidates can also apply for exam.

You can apply for NET exam if you have minimum percentage of marks in Master of Philosophy.

The acronym NET stands for National Eligibility Test.

Requirements for NET exam;

Academic qualification: Master's degree in any stream from a UGC recognized university.

Percentage of marks required is 55%.

Master of Philosophy candidates can apply for NET exam for becoming lecturer in government college.

NET is an entrance exam for Lectureship. State government conducts State Eligibility Test for Fellowship and lectureship.

Aspirants who are interested to become lecturer need to be post graduate. Second most important thing is that candidate should have at least 55% marks.
