In order to be eligible, first of all you need to complete your B.Tech program. After completion of the program, you will be eligible to apply for the Engineering Services Examination, conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
The Engineering Services Exam is conducted only for the four disciplines of engineering including Mechanical Engineering.
As far as the age limit is concerned, the minimum eligible age to write the Engineering Services Exam is 21 years whereas the maximum age limit is 30 years for candidates belonging to general category, 33 years for candidates belonging to OBC category and 35 years for candidates belonging to Sc/St category.
Candidates holding a bachelors degree in engineering can write the exam irrespective of the marks secured in the same.
For further information, refer to the official website of Union Public Service Commission.
