I passed my M.A. in Modern History in 2001. Am I eligible to write the NET exams this year or in 2013? I also want to know the list of books for preparation.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test .

UGC conduct this exam twice time in a year in the month June and December .

The Educational Qualification is required for NET Exam is masters degree from recognized university with above 55% marks .

Marks relaxation provide for SC/ST category .Final year student are also eligible for NET Exam

You have completed MA in Modern history.So you are eligible for NET Exam but your masters degree marks must be above 55% .

There is no age criteria for NET Exam.But for JRF your age should be below 28 years old.
