Personally I would like to suggest you to pursue Bachelor in Science degree course of complete 3 years. After completing this course you will be eligible to appear in the Civil Services exams to become IAS that is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The minimum age should not be less than 21 and maximum should not exceed 30 years and relaxation is given to reserved categories as per government rules.

Re: Best suitable course after XII Medical to become an IAS Officer?
It totally depends upon your interest in a particular stream. You must select that stream in bachelor's degree which you really like to read and study instead of selecting subjects on suggestions of others that it is more easy or demanding in nature.
Bachelor's degree plays a vital role as it will help you in preparing for optional subject. So, subject selection in bachelor's degree must be selected that you aspire to take as an optional subject but your interest but me kept in your mind. All streams are equally good, you can take either science or arts or any other depending upon your interest. |

The selection of course must be based on your interest. So that you can grab the related concepts easily without causing any hindrance towards preparation of your Civil Services Exam. If you are interested in Medical field, then go for courses like MBBS, BDS or BHMS. Otherwise you may go with BCA, B.Sc. as well. After completing these courses, you will be eligible to appear for Civil Services Exam. |

As far as your confusion regarding carrying on with science stream is concerned, that requires a bit of consideration for sure. Assuming you took science because you have a flair for it, it will be wise to continue with it. Changing track as a option can also be entertained if you are not happy with what you are studying right now. At the end of the day just play to your potential and choose a subject you know you can do proper justice to. IAS Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

There is no any problem with this stream. You can also prepare for IAS having Biology as main subject. But if you opt History, Pol. Science, Geography etc. will help you more in competition. You need to go through these subjects deeply. You also need to choose from these subjects as optional subjects.
