Is Biology course compulsory to have in higher secondary studies for getting admission to Biotechnology course? Can you please let me know the minimum criteria on the same? It will be helpful if you can guide me soon as possible. Thank you.

No, it is not mandatory to pursue Biology subject in your Higher Secondary course to get admission in Biotechnology course.

Candidates who have completed Higher Secondary course with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics/ Biology subjects with minimum aggregate of 50% marks from a Government recognised university are eligible to pursue Biotechnology course.

There are many undergraduate courses in Biotechnology like B.Tech, B.Sc. etc.,. you can opt any course of your interest. You can get direct admission in B.Sc. course in most of the colleges on basis of your Higher Secondary examination marks. For getting admission in B.Tech Biotechnology course, you need to appear and qualify the engineering entrance examinations at National level or State level or University level.

So, if you have completed your Higher Secondary course with above mentioned subjects, you can get admission for pursuing your higher studies in Biotechnology course.
