IES stands for Indian Engineering Services Examination and this examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year. As per the UPSC, Every Engineering candidates are eligible for IES Examination. But those who have completed his Engineering degree in any one of the discipline are definitely apply for IES Examination. You have to choose the one Discipline to appeared for IES Examination.

~~ Mechanical Engineering

To apply for IES Examination, your age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

For this year IES Examination Notification was already Declared and the last date of apply for this examination was already passed. If you have not applied for this examination, then you have missed the chance this year.

The examination is going to be held soon on 15/June/2012.

The selection is based on Written test followed by personal Interview.

Eligiblity for IES EXAM;
a candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India.
candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August, of the current year.

is aeronautical engineers can apply because aero is under the faculty of mechanical

can aerospace engineers be eligible to apply for IES exam?? am from iit bombay student.. i want to apply for IES exm.. but i have some doubt regarding whether am eligible or nt?

pls provide this opportunity to aeronautical engineering student,why aeronautical engineering student have less job opportunity like this.
i am student from iit bombay.

sir i completed b.e aeronautical engineering and now join m.e thermal engineering. They both department is in mechanical discipline. Some person say that is cross degree so in feature so many problem will be come. So tell sir what i do.

If everyone is asking the electrical field,mechanical,civil and etc and what about other engineers like aeronautical and aerospace ,it also under comes b.tech and b.e categories why we are the one, always left out. Cant we apply for any other government field except aai. Then please next time if you guys are mentioning b.tech and b.e specify that, exclude aeronautical and aerospace engineers.
