Dear sir, I am Deepak, studying BA from Delhi University. I want to became a Income Tax Officer but I have confusion that can a Arts student apply for it? Which type of post I can get?

Arts stream candidates are eligible for Income Tax Officer job. To become Income Tax Officer, you should first join Income Tax Department as Income Tax Inspector or Tax Assistant and then get promoted to officer post through departmental examination. The entrance exam for IT inspector is SSC CGL exam.

To become an Income Tax Officer, you should completed graduation degree from a recognized University. Your age should be in between 18 to 27 years.

This entrance exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission through CGL exam.

You can join as a tax collector officer.
