Sorry, But you are Not eligible to apply for CDS 2012 Examination.

Because 3rd Year Engineering Candidates are Not eligible to apply for CDS Examination Only Final year Graduate candidates are apply for CDS Examination.

So, When you are Pursuing your Final year Engineering Course, then you are eligible to apply for CDS Examination.

CDS Stands for Combined Defense service examination and this examination was Conducted by UPSC Every year 2 times- CDS (I) and CDS (II).

>> To apply for CDS Examination you must be graduate and eligible candidates may apply for any one of the Academy.

>> IMA
>> OTA
>> Indian Naval Academy
>> Air Force Academy

CDS Educational Qualifications -

>> For I.M.A. and Officers Training Academy - You must have completed or Pursuing Final year Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.

>> For Indian Naval Academy - You must have complete your Degree in Engineering.

>> For Air Force Academy - You must have completed or Pursuing your Final year Degree of Recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 12Th Level or completed your Bachelor of Engineering course.

Age Eligiblity -

>> Indian Military Academy - 19 To 24

>> Naval Academy - 19 to 22

>> Air Force Academy - 19 to 23

>> Officers Training Academy - 19 to 25

So, You are Not eligible for Next year CDS Examination, please apply for CDS Examination in 2013 and for More Information please check the UPSC Official website -

NO. B.Tech 3rd year Mechanical student can't attend CDS exam.

the eligibility criteria for the CDS Exam is given below

>> For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

>>For Air Force Academy: Degree of a Recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.

>>For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.

Age limit:-

For Indian Military Academy age limit is 19-23 Years.

For Air Force Academy age limit is 19-23 Years.

For Naval Academy age limit is 19-22 Years.

For Officers’ Training Academy age limit is 19-25 Years.

etc.

but being a B.Tech 3rd year Mechanical student you can attend UES exam.

through the scheme, you can join in the Indian Airforce, Army, Navy etc.

Dear friend,

Sorry to say dear you are NOT eligible for CDS exam.

Because you are now in B.TECH 3rd year Mechanical student.

Those candidate have completed graduation degree are eligible for CDS exam.

Final year student are also eligible for CDS exam.

But your age must be below 25 years.

Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam is generally conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) to recruit the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Officers Training Academy(OTA), Naval Academy and Air Force Academy(AFA)

The examination is knocking the door as the notification is coming on 25th September,2011

for that keep visiting its official website www.upsc.gov.in

According to the Eligibility Criteria:

i)For IMA and OTA you must have any degree from any recognized University.

ii)For Naval Academy you should have B.Sc in Physics or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering(BE).

iii)For (AFA) you should have the degree of recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering(BE)

Age Limit:

i)For IMA:19-24 Years

ii)For OTA:19-23 Years

iii)For Naval Academy:19-22 Years

iv)For AFA :19-25 Years

The Examination Date:13.02.2012

The Last Date of Application:25.10.2011

Second Examination of 2012:

The Date of exam: 18.09.2012

The Date of Notification: 30.04.2012

TheLast date of Applications:30.05.2012

They select the students through the
i) Written Test
ii)Intelligence & Personality test
iii)Medical test.

Exam Pattern
i) Written Test

for IMA / Naval Academy / AFA
All the three papers are of objective type containing the
English
General Knowledge
Elementary Mathematics
total 300 marks,each paper 100 marks.

for OTA
All the two papers are of objective type containing the
English
General Knowledge
total 200 marks,each paper of 100 marks.

ii)Intelligence & Personality test :Generally here checks the Personality of the candidate,GD,group planning, physical fitness test, interview, small lectures on general issues & psychological tests. etc...

iii)Medical test.
After getting selected in interview ,the candidates are called for medical examination which is conducted by Military Hospitals.

Pre-Commission training After getting final selected the candidates are called for Training.
