Can a graduate from production engineering apply for IES exam in Mechanical Field?


Can a graduation from production engineering(b-tech) apply for ies exam in mechanical field??????

Yes, you can appear for the exam by following the mechanical section syllabus. Aspirants must be B.tech in either civil, electrical, mechanical, electrical and communication. The exam will be conducted by UPSC and age limit is 21-30 years for general category. For SC/ST, age limit is 35 years while for OBC IS 33 years and for the physically disabled candidates age limit is 40 years. The services constitute of engineers who will be working with Indian government managing public sector economy like Railroads, Public works, Power, Telecommunications. Entrance test comprise of written test, interview. For General category aspirants, they have four attempts, SC/ST gets unlimited attempts and OBC category gets seven attempts.

The qualified candidates are picked under the following categories:

Category – I Mechanical Engineering
(i) Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers
(ii) Indian Railway Stores Service
(iii) Central Water Engineering Service
(iv) Indian Ordnance Factories Service
(v) Indian Naval Armament Service
(vi) Assistant Executive Engineer (in Ministry of Defence)
(vii) Assistant Naval Store officer Grade I in Indian Navy
(viii) Central Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Service
(ix) Assistant Executive Engineer (in Boarder Roads Engineering Service)
(x) Mechanical Engineer (in Geological Survey of India)

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination

If you have completed your Bachelor Engineering Degree course, then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination, But your written exam subjects are -CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. You can choose any one subject from the given list .

M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering are also eligible for IES Exam.

Yes , You are eligible for IES exam in Mechanical field.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

The applicant age should be in between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.
