Yes, you are eligible for NET (National Eligibility test). Any Post graduate candidate is eligible for NET Examination. If you have scored more than 55% marks in your MDS course, then definitely you can enroll for the NET 2015 examination.

Now, National Eligibility test (NET) examination is conducted by CBSE on the behalf of UGC. The examination is conducted in June and December every year.

If you are interested in NET Examination, then you have to choose one related subject. As you have done your post graduation in MDS, then you can choose the subject related to your course. You can opt code number 81 i.e. Social Medicine & Community Health.

NET stand for National Eligibility Test .

The examination is generally done in the month of June and December every year.

Eligibility criteria for NET:-

Those students who have got master’s Degree with 55% from universities recognised by UGC you can apply for the examination

Final year students are also take the exam.

For Junior Research Fellowship - You should be not more than 28 years. A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to SC, ST and for OBC candidates.

For Lectureship - There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship.

Syllabus and exam scheme for NET:-

Paper I - 100 marks

General knowledge
Current affairs
Aptitude and reasoning

All the questions will be of objective type.

Paper II - 100 marks
(Core subjects)

Paper III - 200 marks
(Selected core subjects)

NET stands for National Eligibility Test and this exam is conducted by the University Grant Commission (UGC) twice time in a year.

Candidates who have done their post graduation in any discipline or masters degree in any discipline are eligible to sit for this exam.

As you have mentioned that you have completed your post graduation in Dentist i.e., MDS then, can surely apply for this exam. But, you should have secured at least 55% marks in your MDS course.

Final year candidates are also applicable for this exam.

If you are applying for the Lectureship post then, there is no any upper age restriction. But, for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) post age should not exist 28 years.

Age relaxation are applicable for OBC/SC/ST up to 5 years.

Yes, candidates who want to apply for the NET examination have to choose one subject related to their course. As you have completed your MDS then you can choose one optional subject related to your course like Community Medicine or other related subject.
