CDS Examination is prestigious examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year .

IMA (Indian Military Academy) : You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognized University and your age should between 19 to 24 Years.

Naval Academy : You have to complete your Graduate degree course with Maths and Physics as a compulsory Subjects and your age should between 19 to 22 Years.

The Acronym "CDS" stands for Combined Defense Services. This Examination is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

The CDS Exam is conducted twice every year as CDS-I & CDS-II Exam in the months of February and September.

The CDS Exam gives candidates the opportunity to join the following wings :

** Indian Military Academy

** Naval Academy

** Air Force Academy

** Officer`s Training Academy.

As you are a final year student of Bachelor Of Arts , you are absolutely eligible to appear for the CDS Exam.

This is because the required educational qualifications for the CDS Exam is :

Either the candidate should have completed graduation from any recognized college/university or candidates in final year of graduation can also apply for the same.

There is no percentage bar applicable for this exam.

The Other Requisites for the CDS Exam are :

## Age Limit :

a) For IMA : 19-22 years

b) For Naval Academy : 19-23 yrs

c) For AFA : 19-24 years

d) For OTA : 19-25 years.

No further relaxation in upper age is given to any candidate by the Union Public Service Commission no matter the candidate belongs to whatever category.

## Sex :

Both Male and Female Candidates are allowed to apply for the CDS Exam.

## Nationality :

The Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or A subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan.

The next CDS II Examination is on 8th September, 2013 and the admission will take place on the following courses:-

1. Indian Military Academy, Dehradun: 250 vacancies
2. Indian Naval Academy:- 40 vacancies
3. Air Force Academy, Hyderabad:- 175 vacancies
4. Officers Training Academy, Chennai:- 12 vacancies

IMA and Officers’ Training Academy:-

For this academy you need a degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university or equivalent.

Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 19 years and not later than 24 years can apply for the IMA.

For the OTA the age should be between 19 and 25 years.

Indian Naval Academy:-

For this academy you need an engineering degree in any stream of your choice from a recognized university.

Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 19 years and not later than 22 years can apply for the NA.

Air Force Academy:-

You need a degree of a recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering from a recognized university.

Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 19 years and not later than 23 years can apply for the AFA.

Please Note:- The CDS Examination can also be given by the candidates who are studying in the final year degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination. So you are eligible to give this examination.

Yes final year Graduation students can apply for CDS exam but they have to present all the documents when required then only their candidature will be considered.
So apply for it and be prepared for the examination. You are B.A Graduate so you are only eligible for Indian Army.

Union Public service commission conducts Combined defense services examination for recruiting defense personnel for Indian defense.If you are in final year of Graduation course then you will be eligible to appear in Preliminary written exam conducted by the C.D.S . But if you get selected for Mains exam then you will have to show your pass out certificate and if you fail to produce the final year pass out certificate then you will not be allowed to appear in Mains exam.
