CDS stands for Combined Defence Service . UPSC Conduct CDS Examination for twice in a year .

Educational Qualification:-

For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy : Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

For Indian Naval Academy : Degree in Engineering for CDSE and Degree in Engineering or B.Sc. ( with Physics or Mathematics ) for NCC entry.

For Air Force Academy : Degree of recognized University ( with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level ) or Bachelor of Engineering.

No , B.Sc 2nd year candidate are not applicable for CDS exam .But final year of B.Sc degree can apply here .

Age Criteria:-

Indian Military Academy: - 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy: - 19-23 Years
Naval Academy: - 19-22 Years
Officer's Training Academy: - 19-25 Years

Your date of birth is on 09/09/1991 so your age now 22 years old .So as per age criteria you are applicable for CDS exam

You can apply for the CDS exams when you are in the final year B.Sc

You cannot apply for the CDS exams in the second year of B.Sc


Eligibilty to apply for the CDS exams

Educational Qualifications:
Indian Airforce- Bachelors Degree pass in any stream and Physics and Mathematics as subjects in class 12th or BE/BTECH pass
Indian Navy - BE/BTECH pass
Indian Military Academy (IMA) - Bachelors Degree Pass in any Stream

Sorry ,to say that you are not eligible for the Combined defense services examinations conducted by the UPSC.

The various requirements for the CDS exam is as below:

1.Academic qualification:

>>You should have minimum of bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university .Final year candidates can also apply.

So during your final year that when you will be giving the final semester of your bachelor's degree you can apply for them.

>>For Indian Naval academy ,bachelor's degree in engineering or technology is required.

>>For IAF,,mathematics and physics at 10+2 level is compulsory.

2.Age limits :

The minimum age limit for the academies is same and is 19 years where as the upper age limit for different academies is different.

IMA:19-24 years

OTA:19-25 years

INA:19-22 years

IAF :19-23 years.

3.Marital status:

>>Both unmarried male and female candidates can apply for the exam.

4.Citizen ship:

>>You must be an Indian citizen.

You must be physically fit and satisfying the requirements.

The Acronym "CDSE" stands for Combined Defense Services Examination. This exam is conducted twice every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

This Exam is conducted as CDS-I and CDS-II every year in the month of February and September.

This Exam gives the candidates to join the following wings :

* Indian Military Academy

* Naval Academy

* Air Force Academy

* Officer`s Training Academy

The CDS Exam Selection Procedure :

* Written Examination

* SSB Interview

* Medical Test

The Requisites for the CDS Exam are :

** The candidate must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university.

** Final year candidates can also apply for the same.

** The Candidate must be an Indian or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan.

** The Age Limit :

a) For Indian Military Academy : 19-22 years

b) For Naval Academy : 19-23 years

So , as you are currently in the 2nd year of B.Sc , you cannot apply for the exam right now.

CDSE stands for the Combined defense Services examinations .This entrance exam is held twice every year by the UPSC for the different academies of defense with following academic qualification and age criteria :

1.Indian military academy: Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university with age limit 19-24 years

>>For the Officer's training academy ,the educational qualification required is same as IMA but age limit is 19-25 years.

2.Indian Naval academy:Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology with age limit 19-22 years.

3.For the Air force academy ,it is compulsory to have studied mathematics and physics at 10+2 level and bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university .The age limit is 19-23 years.

As you have mentioned that you are now in second year of bachelor's degree in science and year of birth is 1991 so you will complete your bachelor's degree in 2014 when your age will be 23 years .

So yes you are eligible for the CDS exams.

Note:1.Final year bachelor's degree candidate can also apply for the exam.

2.The best thing is that you just need to have passing % of marks in bachelor's degree.

3.For this both unmarried male and female are eligible to apply.

4.Physical fitness is necessary .

Sorry ,you cannot apply for the CDSE as the minimum qualification required to appear is a final year graduate student or even passed students from a recognised university can apply for it.

CDS examination is conducted by UPSC and it is conducted twice in year.The examination is taken to get admission in
Indian Military Academy.

Air Force Academy.
Officer's Training Academy.

The examination is conducted in two parts
Written.
SSB.

The selected candidates from written examination are only eligible for SSB.The examination pattern is same for Air Force Academy,Indian Military Academy and Naval Academy .i.e.
English
General knowledge.
Mathematics.
Each of 100marks and of 2 hours duration.

But in case of Officer's Training Academy there is no mathematics paper.

There are many coaching which will help in preparation are-
1.Baaloni Academy.
2.Minerva .
3.Cavallier India.
4.Olive Green.

All the coaching institute have 1month of preparation for written and almost 15 days for SSB and ₹10,000 for each of them.

There are also limitations on age for different services.
