Im here with subrahmanya a resident of tumkur pursuing my B.E degree under electronics and communication branch in tumkur at channabasaveshwara institute of technology.Im very much inspired to be a part of an indian army,the thing is i want be under technical side of indian army so i need a complete guidance of joining the army.
1)Can i apply before my engineering i.e., in my 3rd year only.
2)The exam that i need to face to enter in to an army.
3)Designation that i pursue when i join the army.
4)The package that is offered for technical engineers.
5)How long i can work in army.
6)The stepping stones for hiring to higher designations.
7)When can i apply my resume within this year i.e.,in 2012 .
8)Where are the application forms available.

Yes there are three ways for the entry of engineer in the Indian Army-

1)University entry fees (UES)

Those candidates who are in their pre final year of the engineering degree course can apply for this.
In this only unmarried candidates are eligible. The Age of the candidate must not be less than 19 years and more than 25 years. The Service Selection Board date usually falls in Jul/Aug during final year. The Training Academy is in Dehradun i.e. IMA Dehradun.. The training starts in July. There are 60 vacancies per course.

2) TGC (ENGINEERS)

Those candidates who hold engineering BE / B Tech degree or are in their final year can apply for this.
In this both married and unmarried candidates are eligible. The Age of the candidate must not be less than 20 years and more than 27 years. The Service Selection Board date usually falls in Oct-Nov & Apr-May. The Training Academy is Indian Military Academy. The training starts in January and July. It is held twice a year. Duration of the course is one year.

3) SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION TECHNICAL MEN

Those candidates who hold an engineering degree are eligible for this.
In this both married and unmarried candidates are eligible. The Age of the candidate must not be less than 20 years and more than 27 years. The Service Selection Board date usually falls in November to January and May to July. The Training Academy is in Chennai i.e. OTA Chennai and the duration of the training will be 49 weeks. The training starts in April and October. It is held twice a year.

Yes, you are eligible to apply. Try your luck through the Technical entry scheme. Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the higher secondary examination and atleast, have 40% in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English. You can join Indian Military Academy or Officers Training Academy after completion of graduation. There are medical and physical standards to be met for joining the Indian Army. During the time of admission, he should be 17 1/2 years and must not be over 23 years of age.
