i got 548/1000 marks for my MA English exam in 1998 result can I apply for net exam

NET stands for National Eligibility Test.

UGC conduct the examination twice in a year.

This examination is conducted for the Junior Research Fellowship and Lecturer ship.

Minimum qualification for NET entrance exam

Masters in subject from recognized university with at least 55% marks.

AGE

For Junior Research Fellowship - age of the candidate should not be more then 28 years.

For Lecturer ship - There is no age limit to apply for Lecturer ship.

AS there is .2 % less in your marks you should ask this from UGC.

The NET (National Eligibility Test) is conducted twice every year in the months of June and December by the UGC (University Grants Commission) for lectureship and JRF (Junior Research Fellowship)

For appearing in the exam a candidate must fulfill the following minimum eligibility criterion :-

1) The candidate must have completed his post graduation with an aggregate of 55% or above without rounding off for general candidates and 50% above for reserved category..

2) Although there is no such age limit for the lectureship but if you are applying for the JRF then you should be less than 28 years old as seen on the first date of the month of the exam..

Since your aggregate percentage turns out to be 54.8% hence i am really sorry but you are not eligible if you are a general candidate..in case you belong to any reserved category then you are eligible for the exam..

Notication announce in the months of March and September emloyment news and ugc website.

For apply net exam,Post graduation degree must in any subject with 55% from any recognised university.relaxation for reserve category.

Age of candidate should be maximum 28 for jrf but no upper age limit for lecturership.

You have scored below 55%, so you are not eligible.But if you are non general category then you can apply for this exam.

The eligible candidate should be a post graduate with at least 55% marks which is relaxed for reserved candidate to 50% and there is no age limit for this exam but the candidate applying for JRF should be under 28 years in order to apply for NET.

As you have secured less then 55% marks in your post graduation you will not be eligible to apply for NET.

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is the national level entrance examination in India for postgraduate candidates who wish to qualify for admission in Ph.D research and/or university level teaching jobs in India. The Eligibility Criteria for NET:

• The candidates appearing for last semester exam can even attend NET exam.
• Thirty Five years is the maximum age limit. There is relaxation of 3 years OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

You must have 55% of marks in MA or any pg to take NET exam.
Better cancel one of the MA subject, which you have got less marks and get to improve your percentage.

Dear Aspirant

The minimum required marks in post graduation for NET(National Eligibility Test) is as follows:

->Minimum of 55% marks in Master degree for General & BC category candidates.

->Minimum of 50 % marks in Master degree for ST/SC/PH/Female candidates.



So According to above criteria, You are eligible for NET only if you are falling under ST/SC/PH/Female catagory otherwise no chance.... That's it
