ELIGIBILITY FOR FOOD INSPECTOR EXAM

1. Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for FOOD INSPECTOR exam.

2. Age criteria for all categories- 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.

3. Nationality - Indian

NOTE: - Final year appearing candidates can also apply for Food Inspector exam.

There is no notification regarding Food Inspector Recruitment Examination 2011 in upsc site..

Graduates in Agriculture / Pharmacy / Food Technology / Dairy Technology are also eligible to apply for the test.Graduates in medicine who have gone through training in food inspection are qualified to attend the test. Otherwise, the aspirants should have completed the bachelors’ degree in any of the science subjects. They must have studied Chemistry as a subject in their qualifying course. Graduates in Agriculture / Pharmacy / Food Technology / Dairy Technology are also eligible to apply for the test. Only aspirants from certified Universities are qualified for the exam. Those who are having an equivalent degree can also apply for the test.

Qualification of food Inspector

Required qualification to become a food inspector:

The candidate must complete graduation degree from any recognized university.
You must have chemistry in your graduation.
You must take training in food inspection to become food Inspector.
To become food inspector UPSC conducted a exam,you must pass this and then you have to give interview.

Essential Qualifications:
1) B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subject with 2 years Experience in Chemical Analysis/Research.
2) Experience of Analysis of intoxicating substance for two years OR
1) M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Bio-Chemistry/Forensic Science with chemistry as one of the subject at B.Sc. level from a recognised University.
2) One year experience in Chemical analysis/research.

Pay Scale:
Rs.5200-20200 + GP 2800/-; Group: „C, Non- Gazetted, Non- Ministerial ;

Probation Period: 02 years ;

Age Limit:

18-27 years & relaxable for Govt. servants, who are in the same line and allied cadres with 03 years continuous service, in accordance with the instructions issued by the Govt. from time to time.

UPSC Food Inspector Exam comprises two successive stages viz:- (1) bjective
Type Test (2) Viva-Voce (Personality Test)

(1) Subjects for the Objective Type Test :

Paper - I General Studies 150 Marks 01 Hours

Paper - II Main Subjects 250 Marks 02 Hours

(1) First Paper - General Studies : The paper of General Studies will include question on the following topics :-

1. General Science 2. Current Events of National nad International Importance. 3. History of India. 4. Indian National Movement. 5. Indian Polity and Economy. 6. World Geography and Population.

Food Inspector Exam is conducted by SSC(Staff Selection Commission).

In order to appear in this exam,you will require these eligibility :-

Nationality - Indian .

Educational qualification :- Graduation pass out in any stream from recognized university.

Age :-
-->>Your minimum age should be 18 years.
-->>Your upper should not exceed above 28 years.

You will able to get the age relaxation facility,if you comes under the Reserved category.
