Hi dear
 Yes, mechanical students can always take up CSE but it may be tough for them in the beginning. For this , they can do certified course in computer for various programming languages and diploma in CSE would be the best option. I have my self seen many people who completed Mechanical but now are working as CS Enginner. All the best With Warm Regards Sammy
