Can I directly join MBBS after completing B.Sc GNM?

Hi, I will be completing my B.Sc General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course after which I want to do MBBS. Am I eligible? Can I get direct admission in medical colleges for MBBS after B.Sc GNM? Or, do I need to appear for any entrance? If yes, then please share the entrance details.

MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and the minimum education required to pursue the same degree course is a Class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate in PCB group subjects from a recognised board of education.

So, if you hold the above mentioned educational qualification, you are certainly eligible for pursuing MBBS degree course irrespective of your highest educational qualification (which is B.Sc. in GNM in your case). But, for getting admission to any private or government medical college for pursuing MBBS degree course, you are required to qualify NEET or AIIMS MBBS entrance examination or JIPMER MBBS entrance examination which is the case even for one getting admission to MBBS degree after completion of their Class 12th.

MBBS is Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery. Admission in the course is conducted on the basis of NEET examination.

NEET examination is conducted by NTA. The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed 12th in PCB as main paper with minimum 50% aggregate.

The minimum age limit is 17 years. There is no upper age limit to appear in the examination to get admission in the course.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
