You can't do higher studies in the field of Automobile Engineering without
having some relevant background in your graduation.
A mechanical engineering or automobile engineering graduate can can pursue courses in that field.
I would recommend you to higher studies in your own field ie. IT field.
For top Indian colleges you should appear GATE.
For Foreign Universities you should appear GRE.

as i know you can do automobile engineering after B.Tech in IT but it is clear that you get batter job chances after that but according to me it is so time consuming that do automobile engg. after B.Tech in IT

as you know both are different field of engineering.

auto mobile is a specialization of Mechanical. so you can't do higher study with Automobile Engineering.

You can pursue that course after passing B.tech but you need to start from 1st year,like a fresh B.tech student.

Your query means that you want to change your stream at this time when you have completed your graduation!!

YOu can of course do the automobile engineering course but that will be such a long time when you complete this degree again.

Besides this,your B.Tech(IT) will be of no value after doing this automobile course again.

Now it is up to you whether you want to waste your time in such w way, better stay with the course you are presently doing.

You can do automobile engineering if you have not crossed the age of 21 years because the age limit for the Automobile engineering is 17 to 21 years.. And if you know more about this then I am giving you a link.

Sorry BTech IT students are not eligible for automobile engineering courses.

The eligibility for MTech in automobile engineering in most of the colleges is as follows:

B.E., Degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Manufacturing Engineering or Mechatronics or any other equivalent degree of any recognized university.

yes definitely you can do automobile courses after b.tech with IT .but i will recommend you not to do that because IT and automobile are totally different field and you will face problem. automobile is best suited for mechanical or automobile engineers. try for higher courses in your own field.

ya of course you can do Automobile Engineering courses after completing B.Tech IT but then you will face very much problem as you do not have that background in your graduation if you had been graduate from mechanical engg that it would had been good..............

You are a IT student why you want to go other stream,and it is not possible you can doing your higher studies by appling for GATE or GRE exem...

if you want to do further study in automobile engineering after completion of B.Tech in IT then it will not be possible for you. only student who have B.Tech in mechanical engineering and automobile engineering can go for further study in automobile engineering.

now if you want to study automobile engineering then you have to start from the beginning of engineering. you have to appear in engineering entrance examination and you have to take admission in first year of automobile engineering or mechanical engineering. i think it is not desirable.

i will suggest you what you are doing is good enough. go with it. if you are interested in higher study then choose subject from IT. there are so many good subject in IT.

off coarse you can apply again the bechlor coarse for the Automobile Engineering.

Of course you can do.

Nothing like that you should go only to IT field if you have completed your UG in that field. You can do any courses out of your field.

And Automobile is a booming area now. So if you are interested you can do courses in that.

2)Some of the University allow Automobile in Distance Eduction, It may be around 20% only

3)If you are more Interest and you have money means,you can go for BE in Automobile in Part time or Full time or Distance Eduction

It would have been easier to give an answer to this question if you had specifically mentioned if it is automobile engineering or various courses in automobile. You are eligible to do both. If you want to do automobile engineering then you need to again start from first year onwards. If you are planning to do certain other courses on automobiles, then yes there would not be any problem in going ahead with that. If you can learn the basic theory of the course then it will be really easy.

dear, you need to understand that automobile courses are a specialization to the mechanical or automobile engineering branch.Its not that beneficial for your I.T. branch, it will make your B.tech degree almost useless.

Why you need to change the branch when there are lots prospects and opportunities in I.T. itself. Its a growing field.
If you want to pursue higher studies you can surely go for MBA,that would be a better change.
With I.T. you can go for
GRE -to get into foreign universities for M.tech
GATE-you can get into IIT's and other best colleges in India
For these you just need a wider understanding of your own subject and a good practice
