Am i eligible for IES exam after completing B.Tech course in EEE branch ? Yes, definitely you are eligible to apply for the IES examination. If you completed B.Tech course in EEE branch then you are eligible to apply for IES examination. IES examination is conducted by UPSC in every year. To appear in this examination you need the following eligibility criteria. Educational Qualification = Engineering degree in any one of the following branch: ->Electronics engineering. ->Electrical engineering. ->Civil engineering. ->Mechanical engineering. NOTE : The Computer Science and Information Technology branch is not eligible to apply for the IES examination. OR M.Sc degree or equivalent in wireless communication, Radio physics, Radio communication. Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. There is no specific percentage required in B.Tech or any qualifying exam like that for IES entrance. Just a pass out of any qualifying exam like B.Tech or M.Sc are eligible for IES Entrance and the special gift for B.tech candidates is that they can appear for IES entrance while pursuing B.Tech Final year or after completing B.Tech degree. As I said earlier there is no specific need of Cutoff percentage I hope your doubt got cleared now. All the best for your exams regards ~AdityA~ |

Re: Can I eligible for IES having completed my B.Tech with 55%?
Hello friend,
Since you hold a bachelors degree in engineering, you are eligible to write engineering service exam. There is no standard set for the percentage of marks scored in the bachelors degree program to write the exam. If you are within the age limit of 21-30 years, you are eligible to write the exam. The examination is conducted for the four core groups of engineering and as per your expertise, you may write the Electrical Engineering papers. For further information, visit the official website of Union Public Service Commission. |
