my gate score is 243,mchanical engineering,in sc reservation category,can i get seat in any nit' co

The GATE Qualifying Marks for Mechanical Engineering discipline is 18.09 marks.

As you mentioned that your GATE score is 243 so your GATE marks would be
somewhere between 19-20.5 marks.

So you are eligible to participate in the central counseling of NITs.
Having the privilege of SC category reservation you could get admission in some NIT.

Many candidates who will get selected in PSUs or get admission in some IIT so the
competition in NIT will be lesser.

The admission in M.Tech. programs at all the NIT campuses shall be done through a
centralized counseling which is expected to be scheduled in the month of APRIL 2012.
MNIT Jaipur shall be conducted this Centralized counseling on behalf of all the NITs.

The application process for counseling is expected to start from 1st week of April.

Since you are from sc catagory,we cannot predict whether you get admission in NIT's, it depends upon how many SC students are infront of you.You apply for all NIT's,if you are lucky you will get any prestigeous institution
Last year in some NIT's seats for some Mtech branches like Metallurgy,SC seats were vacant.Online application of Mtech admission expected to start in April 1st week

You can apply for Mtech in NITs and various local colleges by this score.Last year some seats in NITs were vacant.
In Kerala you apply for
1.College of Engg Trivandrum
2.Govt. Engg College Thrissur
3.TKM college Kollam
4.NSS college Palakkad
5.MAC Kothamangalam

Last year some of these colleges admitted students who are not qualified in GATE due to the lack of GATE qualified candidates.For a GATE qualified student he may get any of these colleges.

As your score is 243 so that your GATE score will be in between 19-20 , now the cut off for mechanical engineering is 18.09 so from that point of view you are eligible for the NIT and you belong to SC cast so that your chances for NIT are increased . There will be possibility for counseling of the NIT on the first week of April but you should continuously check the site of NIT for more information regarding admission.

Since you did not mentioned the category,we cannot say anything.Any way it is very difficult to get any NIT,IIT for your gate score if you are GENERAL or OBC category.
