I want to be a AFMC doctor but my eye number is more than -3.5 what should I do?

Better eye Worse eye


Distant Vision (Corrected) 6/6 6/18


Near Vision (Corrected) N5 N8


Myopia of not more than -3.5 D

Hypermetropia of not more than +3.5 D +3.5 D

Minimum color vision standard should be CP-3 (Defective Safe).

i am afraid if you are having any eye defect they might not take you into consideration and you may get rejected in the medical round . take care and get it corrected bye

Availability of forms for AFMC MBBS 2010

Application forms will be available in the designated post offices across the country. The application form can also be obtained by sending a request for the form to AFMC along with a demand draft.

Important Dates(Tentative):

Date of Entrance Examination: May 1st week, 2010

Availability of application forms: December 3rd week, 2009-January End, 2010

Announcement of Results: End May, 2010

Interviews: June, 2010


Eligibility criteria:

A candidate must have attained at age of 17 years before 31st December, 2010 and should not be more than 22 years on 31st December, 2010. Besides a candidates should not be married and cannot marry even during the course. Also a candidates should be medically fit according to the specified standards.

Candidates should have passed all the subjects in the first attempt of qualifying examination and should have secured atleast 60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and atleast 50% in each of these subjects individually and also in English.

yes you can go for the AFMC with this eye vision as it is not compulsory to have the eye vision to 6/6..........so just go for it and prepare well for the exam.........

Dear friend it is very less probability to select in AFMC during medical round.
They follow some norms which have to be fullfill,as you want to do MBBS in armed force medical college, so it is very necessary to be fit physically, & for eye site they follow some norms which are:
Myopia of not more than -3.5 D
and Hypermetropia of not more than +3.5 D +3.5 D.
