No you can not register directly for IPCC, first you have to clear CPT. After clearing CPT you can register for IPCC.

Direct register for IPCC, this rule will be declared by ICAI after 1 year. So now this time you have to prepare for CPT then IPCC.

I register with Rs.6000/- DD for CPT exam on 04.10.2011 but now I want to direct appear in IPCC exam so It is possible i ready to pay IPCC registration fees?

The Central Council has announced the allowance of graduates to IPCC directly without giving CPT exam.

The eligibility is as follows:
-> Commerce graduates: 55% marks.
-> Non commerce graduates: 60% marks.

Yes, after completing your Bcom you can directly give IPCC exam.
CPT i.e. entrance exam of CA is required in case you want to do CA after your 12th class.
But after graduation no need to give CA.Join IPCC directly.

i am completed for b.com in 75%.i had joined in cpt.but still i can not enter the exam board of icai because i saw the announcement for degree holders are eligible for ipcc without cpt foundation exam.but upto now its cannot conform.

i scored 50% in b.com with 2nd class and completed m.com and also registered in cpt in june 2012 so can i directly get the admission in ipcc without appearing in cpt?

Yes it is possible to do IPCC after completing B.Com. This relaxation was introduced by the ICAI not just for commerce graduates but non commerce graduates as well. Under the new rules, you can skip Common Proficiency Test.


But this is only possible if you manages to clear B.Com with 55 percent marks. While non-commerce graduates should have scored 60 percent marks in their respective degree. If you fail to meet the percentage requirement then you will have to appear for the Common Proficiency Test.

There are two groups in the IPCC.


Group 1

2. Business Laws,Ethics and Communication

3. Cost Accounting and Financial Management

4. Taxation


Group 2

5. Advanced Accounting

6. Auditing and Assurance

7. Information Technology and Strategic Management



Final Course


After clearing IPCC you will have to pursue Final course to complete the Chartered Accountancy course.

Yes you can. But there is a condition
Commerce graduates must have 55% marks and
Non commerce graduates 60% marks.
If you have required percentage of marks you can directly register for IPCC ie you can skip CPT exam.

Hello friend,

CA has three main stages to clear which are as follows -

1. CA CPT
2. CA IPCC
3. CA FINAL

CA CPT is a exam which can be given after 10+2 appearing or passed. It directly makes you eligible for IPCC.

CA IPCC - If you are a graduate and your marks are 55%+ in Commerce or 60%+ in other subject then also you are eligible for IPCC bypassing CPT.
