I have passed my 12th Board exam from Commerce stream. Now I want to do Diploma in Civil Engineering. Can I take this course after 12th from Commerce stream?

You are eligible to pursue diploma in civil engineering on the basis of the 10th qualification and not eligible to get admission in Civil engineering through lateral entry after 12th.

To pursue Diploma in Engineering degree course in any discipline, the minimum education required is a Class 10th from a recognised board of education.

So, being a Class 12th passed candidate, you are eligible to pursue full three year Diploma in Civil Engineering degree course on the basis of your Class 10th education.

Further, you are not eligible to pursue two year Diploma in Engineering degree course through lateral entry as for the same a candidate is required to have completed his/her Class 12th in Science stream with Mathematics and Physics as main subjects.

Yes, you are eligible for diploma in civil engineering after qualifying in diploma entrance exam based on your 10th class. After 12th in commerce, you are not eligible for lateral entry directly in 2nd year.
