I have done MBE with aggregate 75%. i am interested in teaching/education/research sector. Can i take NET exam in Management or have to do it in economics only as i have done MBE.? What is the age limit for Women applicants for research and for lectureship.?

NET Stands for National Eligiblity Test And this examination was conducted by UGC Every Year 2 Times.

And for this examination, Post Graduate Candidates are eligible But only when if they have scored minimum 55% marks in his Post graduate degree course, Final year post graduate candidates are also apply for NET Examination.

And If any one fails to scored minimum 55% marks in his Post Graduation then they are Not eligible to apply for NET Examination. The Examination was Conducted Two times in a year, June and December.

The June NET Examination was already completed and Eligible candidates may apply for December NET Examination, The Notification will be updated soon in the Official Website of UGC.

And If you have completed your MBE (Master in Business Economics) Course, Then you can opt Economics as a subject in NET Examination, So its Better if you have clear your NET Examination in Economics Because you have competed your Post graduation course in Economics.

So, In NET Examination you have to select the Economics as your Optional Subject and it is best for you, The syllabus and previous year question paper of Economics are availiable in the NET Website, So please visit the UGC website for complete information about NET Examination -

Hello Tamanna,
Since you have done your post graduation in business economics, you are eligible to write papers of related subjects.
Since you scored more than 55% in the post graduation exam, you are eligible to take National Eligibility Test for lectureship and there is no age limit to apply for the test. However, if you want to register for the Junior Research Fellowship, being a women applicant, you must not be over 33 years of age.

Hi dear,
You can do NET exam in management or economics.
In which subject you have more interest and more knowlefdge, you can choose it. If can you do JRF in year after result published you will provided with Stipend. If you select for only Lecturership ,you can join in any of the colleges.

eligibility criteria for NET*

M.Sc or equivalent degree under the subjects mentioned above, with minimum 55% marks for General and OBC candidates*and 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D.*

Age Eligibility:

For Juniour resaerch fellowship: 19 to 28 years
For lecturership: There is no upper age limit.Minimum age is 19 years.

so after completion of your master degree you are eligible for NET exam.
