I am a student of BTech Computer science with integrated MBA .. i wanna ask that what are the career options after btech,,actually i am not good in programming,,,so what are the other job opportunities rather than a programmer...I am good in presenting thing so is there any option in management?? if yes plss tell me in detail..

i think you should go for an management job,
as you have integrated mba you will easily get an job in management departments of the software companies,

if u are not good at programming then nothing to worry about there are lot s of option in softwre sector' . there are lots of post other than programmer.

if you are really good and much interested in management then go for MBA and inprove your managing skills................after doing this you will be getting much better job of your choice and you will enjoy it too.........

so go for MBA in some good field like finance and banking.......................

Yes you are right management is for you. So go for an MBA after your BTech.

After you BTech you can prepare for CAT and try to get into top MBA colleges in India. If you get into the IIMs then your life will rock.

Hello,

That sounds pretty weird. Its like you go to a doctor who says he is not good in detecting patients' problems.
Well, the basic requirement of a computer science is that he has to have a clear logic of programming!! It is not necessary that he needs to know all the programs in the world, but at least be sure that his logics are clear.
Anyway as you are yourself not interested in the future with programming, hence we have only a few options left.
Either you apply for MBA for higher studies, or if interested you can go in for defence or Govt jobs.

go for data entry operater or choose a carrier in BPOs like CCE's and tele caller

if you are not good at programming then plz dont worry......there are a lot of opertunities for you other than programing......you can do management type of jobs....you can also join psu like sail,gail,bhel,etc.....

There is nothing to worry about that you cannot comfortable with computer programming as it is one of the toughest thing to understand how these programs are working through the computer.
You can go for following options :-
1) Go for the job in the Networking and architectural companies like Alphred Networking solutions
2) Go for MBA rather than mtech as in mtech you may not feel comfortable without high programming concept.
3) Try for Bank,Railway Recruitment Exams as there are lot of vacancies for btech computer science.

dear friend,
i think you should take in admission in c,c++,java etc courses at a good training
centre because programming is the main thing of a btech,cse students for getting better jobs.

Yeah its true that India has witnessed a back bone broking recession, but its also true that MArket is coming back with whole new and plethora of oppurtunities.

And since you are a M.Tech gradutate that adds as an Asset in Job market.

But just having a M.Tech dergee cant help you unless you had a stronge Foundation in Programming like- C, C++, JAVA and beside these excellent communication skills will add as an asset for you.

This is what Big IT Giants like- Google (India), IBM Demands.

But even you someone hasn't strong foundation in JAVA one can specialize in .NET at present .NET is also not less promissing then JAVA.

If one hasn't any specialisation or skills as discussed above then it is very difficult for them to survive in this highly competetive sector.

In this contions some professional certifications like- Microsoft, Cisco, Six Sigma etc.will be much helpful.

It does't matter whether a computer student know the programming languages like c,c++, java,.Net and other languages.
You can go for in the field of networking, datababe and many other field of computer.
Otherwise go for MBA degree for getting good job profile in the field of management.
As you are interested to management field then go for it.

as you are good in management then if you want to do management job then go for MBA.

but if you like computer science but you can not do well in programming then i will suggest you should go to the computer field where programming is not required. like software industry, networking etc. in software in so me position you have to do programming but in networking join as a design engineer then you don't required to do programming. the scope, opportunity, salary is very good for networking engineer.

If you are not good at programing & you have done MBA course then why don't utilise your management degree.

You are good at making presentation & this is what is required in a management job. In my view a management job would be ideal for you. Many company require professionals who are capable of performing multi-task in the wake of on going recession. So a btech plus mtech degree is an added advantage for you.

Many companies require engineers with managerial qualities. You can apply in those companies.

Dont worry about anything as you have already completed your graduation now, you can get many jobs. if you have any other interests go with them.

For example.. you are intered in any govt. jobs,etc., apply them.

you are a gradate now you can get thousands of jobs. Tell me your main interest in
your life, i'll give the list of decent jobs for you.

Well its not necessary to be good in programming after doing B.Tech with computer science. You have various fields in it like you can go for networking.
You can also do further studies in this field or you can do MBA.

yes u can always be a in a marketing position of a company which is related to computers both its software and hardware part and ur hardware part must be good ,so no need to worry ,opt for mba and have a handsome life.

lack of good Programming language command is not a big deal since there are many other tracks ................search which you like and jump into it.....

You ahave informed that you dnt hav programming skills....ofcourse no prblm...Just try to work on testing tools which may b easy for a person who is not having programming skills..if u get a job on testing tools simply go for MBA in distance mode..after 3 years simply you wil get MBA certifiacte and you can change your stream to management....B,Tech +MBA wil have a gud future..ALL THE BEST

Dude you can very well go for management jobs after doing a MBA or if you want to remain in the field of engg. then you can do M.tech or even without that try for jobs in airforce,army and companies like that. You'll not at all need comp. programmin over there.

Having an engineering background + MBA definitely opens up lots of fields for u. Other than programming, u can go for networking as Network administrator or something like that.
Since u r good at presenting things and have done MBA, go into marketing departments manager level. there r not only opportunities in software but also in hardware for companies such as DELL, COMPAQ, HP etc.

i want to know about placement procedure,requirements in good companies for computer science student in detail.

since you have done your graduation and dont want to go for software jobs...I think the best options fo you now will be try your luck in PSU or UPSC examinations...bank PO will also help you...

you dont need to worry my friend. Pragramming is not the only thing. People are good in its own field.
You can go public sector job. Write PSU exam.
My advice would be, go for MBA since you are interested in managing things.
For this you need to crack CAT exam.

you need to change your line.i mean you can do management because there are no any job available without programming for a computer engineer. however you can get the job of computer operator whose salary is 5000.

if you are intrested in doing R&D job in research field then you should try for GATE also LAST DATE FOR ONLINE GATE 27 OCT 2010 AND NO NEED TO WORRY IF YOU ARE not good in programming

Management jobs are better than the software jobs so apply for those jobs.
You can also go for mtech in other fields like networking and embedded and vlsi where programming is secondary.

I think so.....!

In 2006 a CSE graduate from IIT had ranked within top 100 and were successfully made to IAS.

First he had done CSE from IIT, then MBA from IIM and then cracked IAS in first attempt.

There may be also many like success stories, but we are unaware of them.

I think you must require yoga for mental strength .
If you can do around 15 mins per day then it will help you in getting concerntration.
Then try to reveal what you can do best take feedback with your friend and teachers and other about you that will help you .

As you are not good in programming you can choose the field of testing where lot of programming is not require.
I think you should know atleast basics of languages like c, C++ and java.
Other field is of networking.

Yes there are many computer science engineer are succeeded in IAS.

For IAS technical knowledge not make any difference in initial stages.

As it is administrative job so must have good knowledge of current affairs, communication, confidence and other parameter of skills which help you in sucess of IAS.
