i am a student of class 12th with science stream but i want to change my stream after 12th what are the career options available in the field of law?what are the various entrance exams for admission into the law colleges?? except for law what other options do i have outside the stream of science

if you wabt to go into law fie;d you will have to appear for CLAT exam
Eligibility: 10+2 Examination or equivalent with not less than 50% marks (students taking qualifying examination in March / April 2008 are also eligible to apply)

2. Age limit: 20 Years a

The test will have 200 questions (one mark each) and will judge students on their legal aptitude and English and GK. The pattern of the test has been undergoing changes over the years. There is an increase in the number of questions in English and legal aptitude sections.
It may witness further changes in the coming years as law schools plan to align CLAT with the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) conducted for admission to various law schools across the US, Australia and Canada. Approximately, 1.5 lakh aspirants from these countries take the test.

Quite an exhaustive question, cannot give a quick answer. If you do LLB, you can practice in courts or get into institutions as legal officer. Most of the firms have a legal department to prepare contracts and agreements. Software companies have special legal needs like IPR. You could specialise in such specific areas in law like patent and trademarks, litigation, negotiation and so on. O P Jindal is a famous college in providing law courses, they have a separate exam. Law entrance tests are announced by bar council of India, next test is coming up in Dec 2010.

law is also one of the best course available.........so if you are interested in it then go for it..........there is no such entrance exam for this course.......you just fill the form for the college you wish to join as you receive your marks sheet......

Dear Sharmishta.

If you are asking for LAW then you can be a Lawyer, or work for any company in Legal dept.

You can also give civil service exam,

You have asked for any stream other than Science. then you also have huge scope in the commerce field if you are intereted there.

Commerce field you can go for Bcom and Mcom along with other Professional courses such as CA, MBA, ICWAI, CS, and many more.

Other there are may techincial fields in which you can specialise.

finally i would say, Just take up what actuall interests you and not what other fill or tell you.

yes you can easily change you stream do llb..............

Yes, you can go for career in law. There is always a huge number of pending cases and more professionals are required in this field.
Nowadays many companies also hire law professional to meet out all their legal formalities.
You can go for private practice too or join government sector.

the exam is LLB after complete 12th.
even you are study in science,many colleges giving opportunities to join in law.

The job prospects available to a lawyer are that he may practice with a firm of lawyers, at the independent bar, or as a legal advisor in a company or in the public service.

For getting admission into India's best law colleges you have to appear in CLAT(Common Law Admission Test) exam.

Other than LB you can pursue a no.of other courses like BBA, BCA, BHM etc.

for the LLB the minimum qualification is graduation.

also is it a good field for girls??

Law is a very tough career field though it also

offer unlimited career prospect if you have deep knowledge

and good support.

It also depends upon your debating and oratory ability.

However it is known for long struggle period and mostly success comes

late in career like 10 yrs in practice you may start to see some

success.

so be careful in choosing,this field as success and money will not flow

like some of of the modern profession.

Also be careful in choosing your alma mater
