There is a lot of confusion among freshers regarding differences between different trades like EEE and ECE or CSE and EC etc.

I will tell you the differences between ECE and CSE.

ECE stands for electrical and telecommunication engineering. This trade deals with electronic circuits and its components(diodes, transistors) in various configuration.
The syllabus consists topics like commnication which includes Electromagnetic waves, system design.

A common topic between ECE and CSE is Microprocessors and VLSI.

CSE stands for Computer Science and Engineering. This stream is also known as Software engineering. It deals with the various aspects of programming, high level as well as machine. Also it deals with the components of a computer, i.e, processor architecture, OS modelling etc.

This should clear your doubt.

Dear pal,
both are entirely different field .
ECE is field which involves study of instrument using using low voltage and inventing new apparatus etc.
whereas CSE s a software based course where one will be studying the programming languages and so on.
choose the field in which you have interest all the best

CSE Branch has very less Govt. sector job and more private job but ECE branch has large number of Govt. sector jobs.

ECE: ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING.
It deals with the study of Electronics devices such like Transistor, capacitor, resistance along with circuit & networks. The communication part is deals with the all types of communication systems like telecom, mobile, internet, gprs etc.

CSE: COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING.
It deals with the computer hardware, network, software & programming.

Electronic and Communication Engineering(ECE) and Computer Science Engineering(CSE),this two stream are part of Engineering.But their field is different.
ECE course is in field of Electric and Communication,and were as CSE course is in Computer Application.
But if you complete Engineering course with ECE,you can join in any Software company,but CSE students cannot go for Electric field job.

From abbreviation it is clear that CSE is related to computer sciences where as ECE is related to electronics.

In CSE, you deal with computer hardware or software depending on your interest.
studying software means learning various languages like C++,JAVA,OOPS,etc....

studying hardware means learning about construction and working of various computer parts

In ECE, you deal with electronic components used in communication like radio, phones etc.....
study about signal waves and so many things related to this.

Hello sir, I am a B.Tech.(ECE) 1st yr student and I am very much interested in programming. But I have no idea programming will be taught throughout the 8 semesters or not. Please tell me can I become a software engineering after doing B.Tech.(ECE)??

i actually hate all those electric circuits and new stuff!i dream of making some thing new which becomes a base for the future coming technological improvements!i was reading all the above answer..some where i found that "ECE means a little bit of imagination and CSE means totally imagination!"..what does he exactly mean..all those ScFi stuff and imaginative stuff show in movies??i.e,i hope to invent some thing very new..which should i prefer??i am in a great dilema..i found ur answer a bit logical than the above al answers..thats the reason i am asking you...i need ur suggestions..plz reply!..

Engineering consists of too many branches like ECE,CSE,IT,ME,EE,Civil,Ceramics.

ECE(Electronics and Communication Engineering) and CSE(Computer Science Engineering) these two branches are the branches which had,have and always will have a demand,The basic difference between ECE and CSE is of the courses and the tools.A student of CSE learns the basics of programming langauages like java,c,C++,python,.NET etc whereas the Student of ECE goes with C,C++,Linux and embedded systems.Now a days the companies are looking for both CSE and ECE guys because they both learn the same.

But ECE has one plus point that they a vast opportunities in govt sector whereas CSE have a few.

Hai, There is a lot of difference between ECE and CSE. ECE is Electronics and Communication Engineering where as CSE is Computer Since Engineering.From these abbreviations also we can understand basic difference between them.
ECE is one of the branch in which we can choose hardware or software where as in CSE we have only software field only.
One example is ECE students make computers and laptops in small size where as OS and other software's are created by CSE students.
ECE students deals with electronic devices and make changes in them, communications are deal by ECE students and CSE students are participating in creating new software's which are better than previous.
