It is not necessary to take up designing course in 11th and 12th. You can pursue any stream of your interest during 11th and 12th. After 12th you must appear for the entrance exams conducted by various fashion designing institutes. You can appear for exams like NIFT, CEED, PEARL, NID etc. Basically the test is conducted to test your creative ability and visual perception.

which books should be studied as part of initial stage itself to pass NIFT exam in future & what is the modal of question papers for such exams?

i'm in 11th and i want to do either fashion or product designing so how should i do it?what is the syllabus for entrance exams of various colleges?should i join any coachings?
