SIR,

I have completed my BE(ECE) with 58% in 2010.Am i eligible for CDSE?Which jobs can i get if i qualify through cdse?
Do Navy and air force have 60% requirement in graduation while recruitment through CDSE?

Hi,

CDSE, Combined defense service exam is conducted by UPSC.
The eligibility criteria is to be graduate in any field.
Yes, you are eligible to write CDS exam.
There is no cut off marks for CDS exam.
Since you are from ECE (Engineering), you can apply for both Navy and Air Force.

Union Public Service Commission is inviting applications for the Combined Defence Service Examination – 2011 for admission in to Military, Navy and Air force academy.



Indian Military Academy, Dehradun
Eligibility: Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply.

Educational qualification: Any degree

Age: Applicants should be born between 2nd January, 1988 and 1st January, 1993

sorry to say you are not eligible for CDSE after B.E (ECE) with 58% marks.

as minimum 60% marks in engineering is required to give CDSE exam.

you are also not eligible for Navy and Air Force recruitment drive too.

As specified by upsc Government Candidates need to pass their Equivalent Examination in order to Join Indian Army Or any Other Entry.

Guy should be all clear with His subjects either in Engineering Level Or Degree Level.

As you have 58% then you are Eligible For writing CDSE

Educational Qualification are
(i) For I.M.A. and Officers' Training Academy : Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii) For Naval Academy : B.Sc. (with Physics and Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.
(iii) For Air Force Academy : Degree of a Recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Its not Right that only 60% Or above 60% are only Eligible. As once you Crack cdse Exam you will face Service Selection Board as prescribed by you in the application Form i.e at the time of your filling you will specify for which Entry you need to go For either For Army Or air Force Or naval Academy Or navy.

SSB is 7 days stay at one of the Service Selection Board Centre. If you clear that you will face Medicals.

Just after clearing all these stages you are almost a Soldier as a commissioned officer, You need to go For IMA if you opt for Army ....Or AFA if you opt for Air Force.....

Choose the Entry with your own Interests.

according to the eligibility criteria for the CDSE exam it says that a minimum of the 60% or the marks are required for the eligibility to apply for the CDSE exam ......
and even the navy and the air force also do require the 60% of the minimum marks in the graduation to apply to in the same .........

It seems you are very much interested in joining the defence forces.
So I'll give you all details regarding the CDSE.

The CDSE exam is conducted by the UPSC twice a year.
Candidates who clear the CDSE are eligible for training after
completion of which they can join the defence forces directly
as an officer in the Permanent or Short Service Commission
as per eligibility.

Eligibility:

Both unmarried male and females can apply.

Qualification:

Graduate in any discipline.
Final year students may apply.
No percentage barrier.
However for Navy or Air Force, physics and maths compulsory.

Age Limits:

For IMA:19-23 years.
For AFA:19-23 years.
For NA:19-22 years.
For OTA:19-25 years.

CDS- Combine Defence Service examination.

The education criteria for CDS exam:

For Military and Officers training academy:

A degree from a recognized university is needed.

For Indian Naval Academy:

For Air force academy:

A degree from a recognized university with physics and maths at 10 and 12 level or a B.E degree is needed.

Eligibility criteria:

For Indian Military academy:

Only male unmarried candidates with 19-24 years of age are eligible.

For Naval academy:

Only male unmarried candidates with 19-22 years of age are eligible.

For Air force academy:

Only male unmarried candidates with 19-23 years of age are eligible.

For Officer's training academy:

Unmarried or married male candidates with 19-25 years of age are eligible.Womens who are unmarried or issueless widow without another marriage are also eligible.

Eligibility for CDS exam:-

For Indian Military Academy:-
1.The candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade from a recognized university..

2.The age should be in between 19-24 years..

For Naval Academy:-
1.The candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field..

2.The age should be in between 19-22 years.

For Air force academy:-
1.The candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade but must have physics and maths in 12th...

2.The age should be in between 19-23 years.

So, marks is not important... You just have to complete the graduation after that you can apply for CDSE exam...
