Eligibility Criteria For NET Exam:

♦ Qualification:

Securing a 55% in the master's degree (in Humanities, Social sciences, Forensic sciences, etc) is a must for General/OBC category Students. However the Min. percentage for Sc/St/Ph(physically handicapped)/Vh(Visually Handicapped) is 50%.
Please note: Rounding of Figures is strictly not entertained. As in even a % of 54.99%(for Gen/OBC) and 49.99%(for others) is also not accepted.

Candidates who have appeared or have to appear their finals can also appear Provided they show that they passed with the said % within 1 year of the NET Exam.

♦ The candidate should appear in the subject of their post graduation.

♦ For M-Phil : NET is mandatory even if you have a P.h.d Degree.

♦ The candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR JRF Examination prior to some year are exempted from appearing in the NET Examination.

Age Eligibility:

There is no upper age restriction for the candidates eligibility of lecturership.

Date Of NET Exam:

Usually held in the Month Of june. UGC-NET 2011 was held on 26th June.

i want to know date of net exam in 2011

I got 45% in P.G final in 2011. Now i want to take improvement exam.
Could you tell me can I appear for NET 2012 or not.

I am a BHMS doc. Is there any field other than medical line from which I can go for my PG course.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by the University Grants Commission .

Those Candidates have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities / institutions recognized by UGC are eligible for this Test.50% marks is required in case of SC / ST / PWD category candidates

Final year of Masters degree candidate can apply here .

Age criteria for NET Exam:-

i) Junior Research Fellowship :

Minimum Age : 21 Years.
Maximum Age : 28 Years.

Age relaxation up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC / ST / PWD / OBC .

ii) Lectureship : There is no upper age limit .

General Candidates Rs.450/-
Other Backward Classes Rs.225/-
SC/ST/PWD candidates Rs.110/-
