Eye-sight correction permitted for qualifying CDS exam?
can one get selected in CDS with eye-site as worse as 5 and 5.5 if he is using lenses in any of the 3 sites(ie land, navy n air)???
As any kinda surgery won't be entertained!! And i've BE in CSE. so is there any chance of getting in?? |

Dear Friend
If you eye is as worse as 5 and 5.5 then you are not eligible for any of the service of Combined Defence Services. Even if you undergo LASER operation or some other operation for correction of eyes you will be rejected at the time of medical fitness test. I would suggest you find a job according to your qualification in areas other than Defence Services. |

No friend,
Eye-sight correction is not permitted for becoming Army, Navy or Air force officer. You will be allowed for written test but in the medical fitness you will be rejected. |

dear sir or madam ,i want to know that how many marks we have to get in cds written for qualifing.And gk and eng. marks count seprately or combine. please tell us sir we are eagerly waiting for your answer...

friend eyesight criteria for cds is as follows:-
>>minimum visuality in eye is 6/6. >>6/9 is acceptable in worse case,if it can be corrected. >>lasik surgery is allowed . >>lasik surgery should not have been done after 20 years. >>around 25 cm axial lenght of eye is required. >>minimum height should be 157.5cm >>minimum weight allowed is 50 kg. good luck.... |

If you satisfy the below eye standards then you are eligible to apply for CDS Examination if you are not satisfied then you are not eligible to apply for this examination .
CDS Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year . CDS II Exam announcement has been released . CDS Examination is conducted for recruitment of Indian Military Academy , Naval Academy , Air force Academy , Officer Training Academy . Eye Standards for Naval Examination :: 1. Uncorrected without glass - 6/9 2. Corrected with glass - 6/6 3. Limits of myopia - -0.75 4. Limits of Hypermetropia- +1.5 5. Binocular Vision - III 6. Limits of Colour preception - I Eye Standards for Air force Examination :: 1. Minimum Distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 2. Correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia. 3. Colour vision CP-1 Hypermetropia: +2.0 D Sph 4. Manifest Myopia: Nil 5. Retinoscopic Myopia: -0.5 in any Meridian permitted 6. Astigmatism: +0.75 D Cyl |
